Bowled well without luck especially in the mcg second innings. The wickets column doesn't tell the whole story.

Starc fans truly are incredible. This is the Sydney test. And yet his deranged, cult-like followers still want to litigate his 1-111 in Melbourne for some reason, as if going all Baghdad Bob over terrible match figures then is somehow going to distract from his measly 4 overs of trash today.

He was injured and tired in Melbourne. And is now injured and tired in Sydney. Which is why anyone who isn't a halfwit, which unfortunately doesn't include the selectors, said he shouldn't been picked.

Had Boland not gone ham, the Starc selection would have cost us this match and the series. The selectors will probably get to escape from their completely irresponsible call to play a clearly underdone player. Starc may even clean up the tail to provide more cover.

But those with any sense know how stupid the call was.

Based on all the talk, Cam Green will be used in the side for at least the short term (when he returns) much like Shohei Ohtani this season - no bowling and only a batsmen. They don't want to overwork him & see him as a batsmen first.

I think Webster has more than earned a good go at the team. 31 is basically youngster in this side. I'd argue the player (aside from Marsh) that's in the periphery for the number 6 slot is Hardie. But his injury + form has pushed him away from selection for timebeing.

I expect we will likely see Green play 3 or 4 again, than 6. How they shuffle it, will be interesting.

Neser?

I'm a big Starc fan, but inclined to agree here.

Clearly hampered, short turnaround - should've been rested.

Yeah looks like you're too simple to understand that a bowler can bowl well without getting wickets.

Unfortunately they will keep him on the bench like they did with neser for a long time as they lack the objectivity for hard calls.

Then when a spot opens neeser is too old. Select a golden child with youth on his side. May or may both happen

Still think his bowling was far better in first 3, than the last 2. Especially this match.

His radar has been woeful this match - he couldn't bowl the proper length at all, meanwhile Boland was bowling to a 10c piece every ball. Hence why Starc been carted every over this innings.
Yes, tells me the biggest change needs to be sacking George Bailey.

Bigfooty is truly special. We are in India's second innings of the Sydney test and this nuffie is on here obsessing over Starc's rubbish match figures of 1-111 in Melbourne for some reason, while ignoring all actual relevant discussion about Starc's fitness that link the two games together. And calling other people simple.

Great stuff.

Great take. Agree with this. Fatigue I reckon.

I think he knows exactly how to do his thing on Australian pitches. Maybe not overseas pitches.
Not enough overseas yet to make that call. Bazball threw him out, especially on flat tracks in the 2 Tests he played. Brilliant in the WTC Final at The Oval. Only other Test was in India on totally unsuitable pitches, no wickets in the only innings but only 34 runs from 17 overs.
