Sorry Brett Lee, I disagree. Hazelwood should be made to earn his spot in the Test team. Scott Boland has done more than enough to be a regular in Australia's Test team.

Boland has a Test average that Hazlewood could only dream of.

Even if it blew out five runs per wicket, he’d still have him covered.

This needs to be written into the national anthem somewhere
There is no way on this earth, we'd include the word "poop" in our national anthem, unless we were planning to torch the place and leave.

Depends how long he's given. He reminds me a lot of Warner early in his career.
Warner could pick his moment and play 'proper' cricket shots when he wanted to.

Compare Konstas today to Ussie, Head and Webster - calculated shot making when it was on offer, but most of the 'aggression' came from quick singles, hitting the gaps, turning ones into twos etc.

The difference between being assertive and being a brain dead moron....

He has a test average that everyone could only dream of.

Fact is it has been achieved, as brilliantly as he has bowled, almost entirely on favourable surfaces with a couple of exceptions, across a sample size of 13 matches, 3 countries (one of which he went wicketless in, the other of which he averages 48 in) while Josh Hazlewood has earned his over a sample size of nearly 80 tests and has four countries where he averages mid-20s or less and another couple where he has managed a respectable 32 (India and Sri Lanka).

Boland has done an absolutely exceptional job. That can’t be argued.

But that’s not ‘equality’ or ‘superiority’ yet.

I think even if he (Hazelwood) is fit, he should have to earn his place back in the Test team. Scott Boland can not simply be considered a "back up" option anymore. He has done more than enough to warrant himself a regular starter in Australia's Test team. He has 56 wickets at an average of 17.66 - that's a better bowling average than Cummins (22.43), Hazelwood (24.57) and Starc (27.78). There's simply no reason to leave him out of the Test team apart from the fact that he averages 52 outside Australia. But at the very least he should be a regular in the team.

I'm no fan of SG but that's a poor decision not to have him part of the presentation

Would have love watching him hand over the trophy with gritted teeth
Probably worried he’d take the opportunity to rain on the Australian’s parade, by saying we got the best of the umpiring and also doctored the Sydney pitch. 🤣🤣

Bit of recency bias with Hazlewood though. A lot forgetting just how good he is. Starc should be first to go imo. Bit too reckless and pressure relieving at critical moments

Yes it's totally fair to compare a kid who's barely played first class cricket let alone test cricket for Australia to 3 veterans and a 31 year old debutant.

Also when Warner first started in the test squad he absolutely did what Konstas has the last few innings. Was swinging out his ass every ball just about.
