Lunatic

Wish it was him and not Powell going at Draper - or as it would of been known , the skid mark formerly known as Draper
Regardless of who it was, that piece of play by Tommy was my play of the day.

A lot of players in the league would have flinched knowing Draper was coming the other way, but Tommy made up his mind the ball was his and didn’t deviate one bit.

Interesting take away from that, is McKay has put $750k-$800k on his head.
Yeah, probably suggests he's staying.....at that price he'd want to be the "last piece in the puzzle" for a contender.....and coming back the other way would be good compensation.

He's not really a captain though.

He wasn't captain for Oakleigh (despite being their star player going into last season), Drury was.

He didn't captain SKEVS either.

He's the epitome of a captain on the field, however, no reason he can't just be in the leadership group. There's more to being a captain than onfield leadership though. I'm not sure he's that type, I think he's alot more aloof outside of footy. A bit like LDU...

If I was framing a market, Phillips would be $1.05 as North's next captain.

He was school captain of Caulfield, captain of their footy team, captain of Oakleigh, captain of the Vic u/16's and would have been the Vic Metro captain had the season not been cancelled.

He's an absolute professional off field and his onfield performances are starting to replicate his junior career.

He's absolutely who I think should/will captain the club down the track.
He doesn’t need to be our Captain. His on field actions alone reek of leadership without having the official title.

Glenn Archer was never our Captain, but we know he was highly revered and the boys would follow him into battle.

This kid has Archer like qualities that he just wants to compete and wants to win every contest in front of him.

in hindsight JHF did us a massive favour. if he'd waited until his contract was up, we would've gotten a year of disengaged, shitty performance from him and one of Wardlaw and Sheezel would be playing somewhere else. Then we'd trade him at a lower value because he's out of contract, and get someone who's going to take longer to be ready than Wardlaw and Sheezel, who are both game-ready now and will only grow in ability as Jy, LDU, Zurhaar, Larkey etc. are in their prime.
That's true. If we had to trade with Port at the end of this year, we'd get this year's first-rounder (15-18), and not even sure we'd be allowed to take next year's first-rounder off them because they'd already given up last year's first-rounder on Rioli. It would have been ugly.

Regardless of it turning out to be a blessing in disguise, it doesn’t make JHF any less of a dog prick.

There was no need for that piece of shit to put the club through what he did last year.

As far as I am concerned I hope him and Port never have any success and the karma bus flattens them.

Well we are ******* due . If it’s pick 15-18 we are due for some luck. A highly rated slider will do just fine..
I'd argue at 4, Georgie Wardlaw was a slider with his hammy, as Brayden George will also be considered as such. A lot of my Lions buddies wanted LDU at 1 not Rayner. I reckon we're doing ok at the pointy end of the draft.

No way in hell JHFF’s body of work last year showed more than Warlord’s 3 games.

He has shown so much passion, fight, skill, smarts and power, he leaves HFF in the dust.

JHFF has a couple of inches and 5 kilos so he may have more impact over time. We should probably conclude that both players will be guns and have successful careers.
Plus he's "over the moon" to sign a contract extension no ifs or buts. He is a natural leader and really wouldn't surprise me if some of his junior footy mates want to come to North because of him.

What about Logan McDonald if we traded him in?

I’ll keep saying it - the other one is nothing like Buckley. Buckley was totally honest with Brisbane that they only had one year, and gave professional 100% commitment to them as long as he was playing with them.

Just hoping the Selwood comparison runs through to George’s fairy tale retirement as a three time (at least) premiership player.
More to do with the way they come across in personality- figjam versus honest campaigner

Yep. Tough kid is Tom. I remember in his first year him busting his arse to affect a contest, putting his body on the line and getting hurt

He will be dragging the team to victory with his unbelievable effort, a bit like the way planets gravitate to a star.

George with his pesonality and watchabilty will be the one of the most marketable players the AFL have ever had. North marketing team have just been given the golden egg. At 18 he is tearing it up on the field and as a sideline is ripping interviews like a pro with a sense of humour rearly seen. The AFL world loves him already. This is North.

He's already endearing himself to me with his nickname, his style, his kick and his lack of himbo.

He has the dress sense and look of a guy doing property maintenance. (Gardening, building, painting.)

You lot keep mentioning Paul Kelly.

He's even got the Paul Kelly mid '90's mud flap.

The Warlord.
Ford.
Zurhaar.
Phillips.

North have a lot to be excited about. I think there will be a discussion for 15 years between Sheezel, Wardlaw (how good will he be after a preseason), Ashcroft and Humphrey who is the best player from this draft which will be irrelevant as all 4 are guns and hopefully 250 plus game players. North are set up well for next ten years.

What stands out to me, is George's TOG is significantly lower that others, but looks at his clearances and tackles. Gee was a lot of our own potting Brady for trading out 2 #1 picks, but fk me a bus, stop calling him Shnoz, he's is Baldrick with a very cunning plan.....and you can call me big Kev cause:
