Disagree.
JHF had a lot of attention because he was the number 1 pick, but no way was his performance and output as eye catching as Warlord's first 3 games. He's had the second most clearances by a debutant after 3 games, and being compared with Joel Selwood.
Not getting in some sort of weird argument, JHF was very good in his first few games. We’re probably looking at the two best first year clearance players of the last decade, the only other one like them is Oliver.

i disagree, I actually think he is quite polished. It would be hard to be super composed when you’re a third gamer trying to win the game off your own boot for the second worst club in the league…..well third worst if you consider *

Love the Paul Kelly comparison
He hit 'em hard, he hit 'em straight.
He was more than just a first year
He was something like a tide
More than just one man
He could take on any side
They always came for Warlord
'Cause fortune used to hide
In the palm of his hands

Was thinking about this today and take the ill-feeling out of it and it's potentially a win-win.

Let's say Jason had come to us mid 2022 and opened up wanting to head home, mental issues, no hard feelings. Sure it might even generated less internet traffic. But the outcome under these "friendly" trading conditions probably would've ended up much the same - get an equivalent, preferably local kid.

Which we did. Now we all move on.
All he had to do was be a man about it.

I prefer this kid's intensity. If that other guy had played with that sort of intensity ... well it'd suck heaps more that he left.

Absolutely, I prefer this kid, everything about the other screams mercenary, he picked up a big contract and laid down arms. I have no doubt he’ll do it again if he’s not the highest paid player at port in a few years.

The thing about Warlord is his relentlessness.

All the time. It never ends.

That's what is catching everyone's eye.

Could be better than Black is some high praise.
Black in his first season looked slow and was caught with the ball several times. He was never quick across the ground but was elite at middle distance running in his junior days.

GW looks explosive in his first few games. Black did not.

Because everyone knew the fix was in and felt a tad uncomfortable?

Edit: and his first few games were not as good, and he hadn’t re-signed.
No way in hell JHFF’s body of work last year showed more than Warlord’s 3 games.

He has shown so much passion, fight, skill, smarts and power, he leaves HFF in the dust.

JHFF has a couple of inches and 5 kilos so he may have more impact over time. We should probably conclude that both players will be guns and have successful careers.

What I really love is getting caught the first time didn't curb his enthusiasm, instead punched the ground clearly angry at himself and hates being beaten. He's a beauty and needs to keep playing to his natural instincts.
