So your theory is that Danger knew he didn't have the ball and intentionally set out to hurt him despite having no history of such conduct and no reason to take out any of Carlton's shit truck players in this pathetic hoe down of a match?

No but the AFL looks at the injury first and the action second.
Doesn't matter if he thought he had the ball or not. My point is it's not kreuzers fault danger smashed his head into the turf.
Anyway fine at worst which I think is fine but I hope they are consistant.

Fair call.

But would you have an issue with Danger missing out on the Brownlow because of the Kreuzer tackle?

He simply cannot escape a 1 week penalty at least but would be so wrong if he missed out on the brownlow as a result......

Its a condundrum for the AFL.

No issue at all if he cops a suspension. Martin will win in any case...

Also because it's legal to tackle in Aussie rules.
Yeah sorry good point.

For some reason I thought the 'legality' of 'tackling' had become a grey area and was constantly evolving and being debated.

Clearly any tackle is ok because "it's legal to tackle in Aussie rules". (Pile drivers included)

"Pile driver", jesus christ. Do you lynch mob members read the drivel you post?

A strong tackler taking down a tall player and correctly pinning the arms. Shame it hurt Kreuzer.

Wasn't saying Danger's tackle was a pile driver.

You can't tackle like that these days though.

You fans really are original with your jokes aren't you.
Your time is coming Adelaide. Tex Walker & Co are gonna get pussy whipped. Dangerfield will win the Brownlow, Norm Smith, and Premiership. Win, win, win! #onlythingsadderisyouaremoreobsessedwithdangerthanweare #thereyougo #clown

My god some of the dribble in this thread is embarrassing for all involved.

We lost because Geelong are a good team and we are a bunch of kids who are very tired at the end of a long season. Not the umpiring.

Carlton people booing Zach Tuohy was stupid. We low balled him, it was his duty to his family to find a contract that reflected his talent. It was win/win for both clubs. I'll cheer Tuohy. Hendersook is the one we should Boo.

Dangerfield tackle is closer to the Mcarthy tackle than not.

Yes, you can, if it's a single-action tackle. A two-action sling tackle is illegal and players who do it get reported and usually suspended, and rightly so.
Tackling a player and putting them on the ground in a single action is not illegal, nor is pinning the arms which is how the players are coached to tackle to stop the player being tackled from being able to legally dispose of the ball.
The main thing that the MRP looks at is whether the tackle was one action or two. If it was single action, he'll be fine. If it was two actions (tackle first, slam into the ground second), he'll get cited. That's how the MRP have been looking at them for a couple of years now. But, that said, the MRP is a chook raffle these days and could come out with anything.
Just because an opponent's head hits the ground doesn't make the tackle illegal, players' heads hit the ground in tackles in every AFL game.

I have to conceed you appear to have a more detailed knowledge of the MRP's current approach than me.

And I agree it was the one action.

But they definitely look at arms pinned and driving the head into the ground - 100% sure on that one.

Arms pinned, head hitting the ground (arguably driven into the ground) and the injury to Kreuzer means he should get at least a week but I don't want to see him miss out on a brownlow because of that.

Yep agree-but can't understand why McCarthy got suspended!
