AFL 2018 R19: Richmond v Collingwood

Nah your right mate, we’re only top of the ladder and reigning premiers because we’re an average list with 4good players. I hope that’s the attitude all opposition clubs take for the rest of the season against us.

Nah, nah, nah - don't try to deflect now.
I am talking about three elite footballers missing from Collingwoods line up against three good players missing for Richmond. That's all.
Not my fault if you over-egged your argument and overextended yourself.

I could easily pick excellent players out of the Richmond team that would match the outs collingwood has - but your current injuries just aint it mate - fact.
Like I say, your loyalties are admirable.

As for performing under pressure on a big occasion - what can I say.
Many great players never played in Grand Finals or even Finals but are still considered elite.
Treloar played an excellent game against the reigning premiers in April., DeGoey played brilliantly under the spotlight on Queens Birthday and he's still developing - so they seem to be pressure players to me.
If Richmond are as great as you purport them to be, imagine how much better Treloar and DeGoey would be in a great side?

Congrats, just confirmed you know nothing about the Tigers, or the way they play.

Just go back to lauding your flat track bully team and leave the mature analysis to the 13+ year olds

Flat track bully? Lol, you can't win away from Melbourne.

You are the flat track bullies Hahah.

And ironically missing Treloar got us Rioli and Prestia. So again, we don’t need him.
Houli is our quarterback off the HBL. We are missing him.
Graham is our best stopper. You’re blokes wouldn’t of got off the chain today if he was playing.
Butler is very important to our forward ball movement, pressure and structure.
We are missing those blokes.
I was asked who i would take, out those injured. I’m just being honest with my opinion.
You’d take your guys, i’d take ours. Why is any of this a surprise?

That would have to be the most ridiculously biased post I have ever read. To try and say Graham, Houli and Butler are bigger outs and more important to Richmond than DeGoey Treloar Wells Elliott Aish Reid Goldsack and Dunn are to Collingwood. You are kidding yourself and that’s not even to mention we lost Howe and Shaz went down in the first half

Destiny is in your hands. On a side note, when is Treloar due back?

I take the extras you added are there for dramatic effect?

You can't possibly think that Richmond's injuries this year are any way comparable to teams like Collingwood, GWS, Adelaide and West Coast.

I'd love to be missing 3 role players rather than JK, Naitanui etc.
Yeah sorry but Richmond are missing PREMIERSHIP players so no other injured players in the AFL can compare in Richmonds' injury losses;):D

Trelore is elite, DeGoey isn't yet but will be, and who is the other elite out? Refresh my memory

The margin was 2 goals less than last time without Treloar, De Goey and Dunn who were all playing in that game. We were also 2 men down for the 2nd half of the game like last time. Keep talking shit though.
Sounds like you’ve overrated those players then and are better without them.

Keep in mind dan butler didn’t play and he loves sinking the boots in more than I do !

Out of interest, which 8 players from today's magpies side are you ditching to bring in those champions of the game?

Hahahaha my god, Richmond supporters actually think Graham, Butler and Houli are big outs.

Even the guy who said it was joking.
Haha, wow.

I notice one of your posts disappeared which i quoted. It seems you’re all over the shop. Tighten up in your trolling.

What extras, they are all in the best 22 and some of our most important players

Lol, you’ve just jumped in head first mid stream in someone elses convo. You’ve missed a bit. Relax mate. Pies played well today.

:drunk:

The below is from Manicmagpie on the attendance thread i suggest you read, learn and absorb that this crowd today was the biggest for a sat arvo ever and top 5 of all time for home and away game "non public holiday" just proves you're salty and just an embarrassing post.

Today's crowd was the 20th biggest for a home and away game.

Of the 19 bigger than today 15 were on public holidays (12 x ANZAC Day, 2 x QB, 1 x Easter Monday).

The remaining four are Richmond and Collingwood raising their respective premiership flags in 2018 and 2011, Carlton v Essendon in Round 20, 2000 and the Sheedy/Hird farewell in late 2007.

It was the largest Saturday afternoon (non public holiday) crowd of all time.

Why would I be salty? The talk from all quarters all week was it would be the biggest H&A crowd of all time. It wasn’t even in the top 10.

You’re mental if you’re able to construe that any other way but disappointing.

Again you deflect - not talking about trades and you got Rioli, Prestia etc

Graham, Butler and Houli
Vs
Treloar, DeGoey, Elliott

Who are the biggest outs for their respective sides, let alone the fact who are the better players.
Ask any neutral - or anyone without a yellow streak down their back.

Out of interest, which 8 players from today's magpies side are you ditching to bring in those champions of the game?
B: Brayden Maynard, Darcy Moore, Jack Crisp
HB: Jeremy Howe, Matthew Scharenberg, Sam Murray
C: Chris Mayne, Scott Pendlebury, Tom Phillips
HF: Will Hoskin-Elliott, Brody Mihocek, Levi Greenwood
F: Josh Thomas, Mason Cox, Jaidyn Stephenson
FOL: Brodie Grundy, Taylor Adams, Steele Sidebottom
I/C Tom Langdon, Callum Brown, Travis Varcoe, Josh Daicos

Becomes

B: Brayden Maynard, Lynden Dunn, Jack Crisp

HB: Jeremy Howe, Matthew Scharenberg, Darcy Moore

C: Adam Treloar, Scott Pendlebury, Tom Phillips

HF: Will Hoskin-Elliott, Jordan De Goey, Jamie Elliott

F: Josh Thomas, Mason Cox, Jaidyn Stephenson

FOL: Brodie Grundy, Taylor Adams, Steele Sidebottom

I/C Tyson Goldsack, Levi Greenwood, Travis Varcoe, Daniel Wells

Ben Reid and James Aish are old and still a fringe player, respectively. But that second side, all fit, beats Richmond any day.

I think how we are interpreting the rule is quite different. I feel this is because of how the rule is phrased. Nothing wrong with the kick itself but the throw action before it is the question.

Rule from Laws of the Game 2018:
15.3.2 Incorrect Disposal and Payment of Free Kick
When the football is in play, a Free Kick shall be awarded against a Player who hands the football to another Player or throws the football.

My interpretation: The rule states that you can't "hand" the football to another player. Throwing seems to be more widely interpreted to both another player and to ones self. Otherwise the rule would be written as "... against a player who hands or throws the football to another player". The rule as it currently stands suggests that any throw will be penalised (whether to another player or not). They should look at rewording the rule if they only want throws to other players being penalised.

Everyone can agree that he threw the ball however since he made contact with the ball below the knee before the ball hit the ground or anyone else touched it then as per the kicking definition that makes it a legal kick imo, the kicking rule isn't explicit as to how you have to get the ball down to the boot.
