On that last inside fifty, the Giants had 2 free players on for the handball and they would've ran into goal, but the fella at HF with the ball just ignored them and turned inside and booted it long across goal to Whitfield vs Merrett (with 3 other Essendon defenders getting across)

Just poor percentage play.

Giants players just take the wrong options all the time when they go inside fifty. They don't take the first easy option which presents. They overcomplicate things and go for the "hero" pass.
