What are you talking about? We have still played more games outside of SA than in it. We were ontop of the ladder playing a neutral showdown and 4 games in a row in qld. We were ontop of the ladder getting up at 5am and travelling halfway across the country with a team waiting for us at the other end. We were still ontop having 2 shorter breaks in the first 2 games of the condensed fixture against quality opposition. We are still on top after playing you guys. We are still on top after playing 6 of the other top 8, with only Geelong left. Shut up, we're not interested in hearing your excuses. All we hear from losers like you when it is pointed out that you played 17000 games at the MCG and you are guaranteed a MCG GF is tough sh*t. We've had it as difficult as anyone this year and we still keep on winning. Ken Hinkley has been asked about 6 times in a row what he thought about the umpires (because we had been fisted again) and says nothing. All we have heard from Richmond for months is non-stop whinging.
Mate, I thought we were having a fairly decent conversation but the last two posts you've massively changed your attitude towards me.

You haven't really answered anything you've quoted me for but have gone full auto on being in my face haha.

Look, as I have come to see it, and winking two flags recently had been the big difference in my thinking, is that the H&A is for form building and ladder position. But finals is the real deal. Any team can have a big year in any code and totally fail come finals or GFs. The Washington Capitals in the NHL blew teams away for many seasons in the last decade, finishing atop the table but often failed during the playoffs. The won one Cup in all of that domination.

Teams that finish on top of the ladder have not historically home on to win the cup or flag especially in the AFL this last decade.

BUT during the covid carnival having your team based at home during a global epidemic is a huge boost. Don't forget we are in a global epidemic. I am assuming you live in SA so I can understand if it is easy to forget that but living in Victoria with an 8pm curfew and businesses going under job loss and ppl getting stressed it is very much at the fore of our minds and easy to set that this is no regular season of footy. This is a warped, strange season and being at home without restrictions is a huge luxury for citizens and teams.

Like literally everyone else bar you said at the time, it was a clear pushout. You are allowed to wrestle while stationary to a pretty high degree. You're not allowed to go a running bump into someone in a ruck contest. It's not hard.
He didn't do a running bump. He went for body contact and Dixon dived. Look at how Dixon goes down once the replay is available. He flops. It doesn't matter what other people say, I aren't a lemming. It was as dive and it worked.

Oh you poor baby, you don't get 17 games in Victoria this season.
Do you understand we are in a global epidemic? This isn't regular footy mate. This is a massive effort to at least have a competition which is an incredibly commendable effort by the AFL but this is not like a normal season of football. No team anywhere in Australia has had to play under the conditions teams are now in prior to this season. This is a one off (hopefully one off) but certainly not comparable to normal football.

Versus a team that travels 5 times a year and plays the gf on their home ground. Yeah, no comparison
Are you saying this season is no different to another other season? Bacchar Houlis mum was in hospital due to the virus earlier this season. His wife gave birth. He took time off to be with his family. The northern suburbs of Melbourne have had a huge and ongoing outbreak, especially in agreed care. Most of the Islamic community live in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. He is passionate about his community. You think Houli has been able to focus on footy like it is any other season? How about players with vulnerable family members back here in Melbourne? No different to any other season?

all in all a great game, unlikely to be bettered this year. both sides can take a hell of a lot out of it. power have shown that they can actually beat the best, and tigers have shown that they can still be at the level even with a third of our best team out. I had doubted whether we would be there this year after our horrid start and whether the port were going to do their classic beat up strugglers early and then flop when they play the real teams, but it looks like both will be around the mark this year.

I'm glad the commentary was centred around the non Victorian teams having to pay in Queensland at the time. I'm glad other teams get the home ground advantage this year.

So you've lost one player. What about non Vic teams losing players because the commercial opportunities are better in Victoria?

The point was that Dixon “never gets frees”.

first 5 similar forwards I thought of all average less

if you want to somehow locate stats for how often a player is a target and how often they get frees they can, I’d doubt that Dixon is the option 3 times more often than hawkins though.

I'd be interested to see how many frees he is getting in ruck contests vs as a forward. Got plenty of forward 50 frees in the ruck (fairly) and then get smashed for donuts as a forward.

55 to 24 inside 50s. 20 to 5 centre clearances. Port missed 5 easy set shots. Tigers gave a good fight but port clearly dominated the game. Goals gifted to tigers in 2nd quarter due to clear defensive free kicks not called....were not discussed amongst tiger supporters. Best team on night clearly won. We bank 4 points and move on

Just find it hilarious how WC fans complain about Port fans booing when they boo everything when they play at home. You guys boo when a opposition player gets his head ripped off.
He wasn’t complaining, just laughing at Port fans booing so loud when everyone says it’s only Wce fans that boo! Give it a rest, fans from every team boo, no matter where it’s played.

We got away with some howlers in the second but it was 8 frees to 0 to start the game. You built a 4 goal lead off of that and then the umps held the ball inside your f50 in the last. You guys were dropping the ball left and right inside 50 in the last and it was play on every time. We got pinged for the same offences. I'd say you got given a good hand tonight. 22-11 and how many were inside attacking 50 for your mob?
Most of those early free kicks were holding the ball. They were there.

Mate, if you cannot accept that we live in the times of a global crisis you can't be helped. This can't be compared to anything else because this is without precedent.
Which just means because of a global crisis, other teams will get a travel/home ground advantage that they may never get again. So yeah if they take advantage of that good on them.

So this season is the exception not the rule?
