all in all a great game, unlikely to be bettered this year. both sides can take a hell of a lot out of it. power have shown that they can actually beat the best, and tigers have shown that they can still be at the level even with a third of our best team out. I had doubted whether we would be there this year after our horrid start and whether the port were going to do their classic beat up strugglers early and then flop when they play the real teams, but it looks like both will be around the mark this year.

I love this passive aggressive stuff. Whose the 1/3rd of your starting 22 you are missing exactly?

Filthy dog flogwaldt doing what he does best...

I didn’t catch that during the game. That’s a very bad look and surely the afl has to look at that? That’s not in the contest and there’s no attempt to tackle or stop Jonas run.

just hits him in the nuts.

that’s way worse than striking a guy in the stomach.

About as low as it gets on the field.

Cotchin Prestia Edwards houli nankervis aatbury. Not a bad lineup of names.

I suppose you missed the part where I said I wasn't convinced by port but having watched the game am now and reckon they will be one of the contenders around the end of the year.

Did you think Port were at full strength?
Was a 5 day break after a 4 day break a factor?
Of course all the frees were in the f50 in the last quarter, you had 2 f50s in 25 minutes of football!

Enjoy your flags, make sure you don't burn them along with your melting and your collection of microwaved membership cards..

Were Port at Full Strength? Nope.

Was a 4/5 Day break a factor? A little from both sides of the coin to be honest.

I mean Freo vs Cats was an Abomination.

Freo were an Abomination in that game.

The weather was an Abomination too.

Yet Freo Beat Collingwood in Perth 6 days later. This freo side won 10.1.61 to Magpies 7.7.49.

No Alex Pearce, No Joel Hamling So thats your Full back and Centre half back out injured. No Griffin Logue, another KPD that shut down Admittedly, an out of form taylor walker in round 5.

No James Aish who is an outside mid.

No Jesse Hogan, No Cam McCathy and No Walters. So thats 3 decent forwards out injured.

Make that what you will.

And not too unlike myself you are unaware of our swath of first Call ups into our 22. This season, or more importantly this last 3 games and the next couple is all about attrition. No point broadcasting the injured, it’s all about the soldiers on the grass.

The oppo supporters are up and about tonight. Never seen so many people get their knickers in a knot like they do with the Tigers over anything else.

Dare say it happens to every premiership team that gets canned the following season.

How good do you think we are? Missing more than half a dozen and flying in the morning of the game off a 4 day break from a hub where we havent been at home in over a month.

If you're the top team playing at home in those circumstances, you're winning that game.

Port are not a top team yet

Nevertheless the win was highly contested for four quarters. That's a good sign for port given where they are at. Also great signs for the tigers given the short break and the outs.

Remember the days when you'd talk footy with some random and they'd often say "The Tigers are my second favourite team..." winning changes things hehe. Glad to be in these times. We've won more flags in the last three years than Port has in the entirety of its afl existence. Which is pretty significant because we were awful for most of the time since they joined.

Not quite a fully rested Port Adelaide (5 day break following a 4 day one), not quite fully fit (Burton Ebert Marshall Motlop out from our best 22 with Lycett coming back this week) but agree that Port have the advantage coming into this game.
Richmond and WC still the teams to beat this year for the flag.
Motlop out is actually an advantege
