You don't understand footy, it DID affect the outcome at the state the game was in at that time. What could have would have happened is irrelevant to what the state of the game actually was with 20 secs to go. Nit wit.
He could've missed the goal

Grundy monstered Brisbane's rucks all night. Hard to remember such a belting in the ruck IMHO.

He did the same to English a few times early. 58-6 hit outs the first time they met.

Always liked Darcy Moore down back but he leaks a ridiculous amount of goals and chances with his style of play. Looks ugly when it doesn’t come off.

Yeah, I remember those games fondly. Great time to be a Herald Sun SuperCoach.

That analysis makes perfect sense so long as footy matches last no longer than 30 seconds.

An error leading to a goal or denying a goal at any stage of the match has equal potential to affect the outcome of a game. For example, if the Lions hadn't got one of their many soft frees in front of goal earlier in the game they would most likely not have been within a goal. There is no rational reason to only have regard to one of many umpiring errors.

Could be a season defining win for the Lions. I think Daniher was the difference for the Lions tonight. What do you think coastalpipeline ? He turned the game on it's head in the space of 5 minutes to get the Lions back into it. I feel like he's the sort of player Essendon are missing right now. Do you think they'd consider a trade to fill the gap?

Well that's gotta hurt for the Pies. Commiserations.
Great effort by the Lions. Good win, congrats.

They really have to look at what penalties actually deserve 50m. The **** up on the mark and/or protected zone don't deserve 50.
Thankfully from what I watched it didn't decide the game.
