As in Rugby Union, the umpire should be able to determine if any advantage was actually received.
Its up to the player to make the call. If player indicates he wants to stop then it can come back but if he takes off its advantage
 
Already had the ball, he should have been coming up, that’s one we need to not pay for the purpose of getting it out of players games. Peatling invited head contact with a couple of extra steps.

They absolutely should not.

The player has the choice, ginnivan knew he had the free kick, he made the choice to keep running.

Shouldn’t get an umpire gifted mulligan for making a bad decision
 
"Ward against D'Ambrossio... we know who the tougher of those 2 is...."
Given most would acknowledge that Ward is one of the toughest players in the comp it is hardly an insult to D'Ambrosio

My thoughts are that if you want to encourage an attacking, free flowing brand of footy, then the ability for the umpire to determine if advantage was received would be beneficial.
