Great comeback by the Pies but that was some seriously wrong umpiring. I can't believe that they could umpire different clubs and players on purpose so not sure what it is? Perhaps just a real lack of courage to make decisions that the crowd won't like. Very concerning. I think I'd be really upset if I was a North supporter.

Crowd?
38k at marvel shouldn’t be intimidating.

Which is exactly what happens throughout the game. Get a warning, step back.

What probably didn’t help was North played on immediately following the mark. Umpire still had time to give it though.
he didn't though, he ran backwards off the mark as the Collingwood players actually caught hum and made contact with him.

They umpire players differently, quarters differently, games differently and rounds differently.

It's not an outrageous to think that they would do the same for clubs

The thing I can see with a lot of those calls is we have the comfort of an upper camera, so can see Naicos didn’t really get a handball etc - but I don’t blame the ump for not being able to see it at ground level in congestion. Saw a swinging fist and the ball moving, handball, play on.

Even Quaynor one had reasons to say play on. Lots of ones where you can see from an umpiring POV that it could have gone either way without having multiple slow mo camera angles. And that’s my biggest weekly defence of umpiring.

The 50 is the one decision where it was pure shitting the bed umpiring, not wanting to pay a big decision in a decisive moment so doesn’t pay it instead. It was a clear mark, clear whistle, Scott heard it, should have been 50.
Certainly umps are only human and make mistakes. Some things are definitely harder to see at ground level in congestion, but not to the tune of 14 frees to 3.
I'm not one to say that free kick counts should be even, but if you look at some of the ones that were paid for the Pies and some that weren't for North (not just the ones I mentioned, there were many more), then there's certainly cause for a grievance.
There was the earlier touched goal that wasn't overturned as well.
I hope Clarko says something.

Your lead was built on some laughable free kicks- two in the second term were comical. The "push" in the back when a big girlie ruck man hurled himself over the fence when he felt a touch to his back and a "dangerous tackle" free which should never have been awarded because the pill was a metre over the line a second before the incident.

You were also playing a wounded team made up of many VFL players.
Enjoy the win
Pies are cooked

Lol that is so seriously bad umpiring right there.

To just call play on after two guys just run past the mark like that is truely laughable.

I wish I had a job where I could simply **** up the basic fundermentals of my duties and nothing happens

yes it was a bad call but being over the line is irrelevant. You know this right. you push someone in the back just because they're over the line.

A lot of solace for north fans- Collingwood have negative youth coming in and are in real strife in a couple years.

North revenge tour is going to slap a lot of teams in the face and I get the feeling a man like Wardlaw is going to remember this one with a lot of venom.

We've debuted something like 6 or 7 this year. This is seriously dumb.
