A question - not a whinge - I always assumed that a free basically couldn’t be given for ‘kicking in danger’ if the player made contact with the ball?
Nope. Kicking in danger is for when a player is making a play for the ball and an opponent kicks it/kicks at it, it's not for attempted smothers

It is kicking in danger if another player has their hands on the ball at the time.

I mean they showed how the umpiring is going to go when Guthrie was allowed to throw Willem Drew into Jeremy Cameron and Geelong get a free kick for high contact.

Should have both gone off for a impact assessment tbh
