Disappointing start for us, already knew it would be a long year. I expected the poor skils, odd bad decisions etc. but I was very annoyed with the hardness of the team, you would think with DH as coach they would play hard at the ball. Blues were always going to be the more skillful but they are not known for much toughness so that was one area we should of stuck it to them but too many blokes taking the soft option. I bet there is boys in the 2's who would happily put their head over it to play AFL.

Coaches can only do so much, especially a first year coach too.

If a player isn't willing to play hard and committed football, there's really not much a coach can do. It doesn't help when the Captain of your club decides to have the match off in round 1, although Newman is one Richmond player who usually is consistent.

Long year for the Tigers, Carlton around the bottom of the eight again.

that last qtr looked like the first preseason game of the year. richmond were good in 1 or 2 small periods and shithouse in nearly every other area. they are rebuilding big time
