Isn’t he injured?
Is he? Played in the A games
Picked up a side strain during that series.
Morris literally played his first domestic game of 2024 in the four days before you posted this, and took 2-75 for the match.
Johnson has played 6 matches in his entire career and only one was this season - he took 5-168 for the match and again, it just finished.
Those two would need to be incredibly lucky to just be parachuted straight in.
O’Neill has a fantastic record but he picked a very bad time to go wicketless across two innings and his season to date hasn’t set the world on fire.
Paris is very unlucky not to have been under closer consideration for higher honours before.
Abbott has taken 13 wickets at under 20 in his last two matches including a 5 wicket haul and a 4 wicket haul.
Except we’re picking specialist bowlers, not all rounders. Is now back but has hardly played any red ball cricket so will not be match fit. Aaron Hardie is fit, has a similar average to Doggett plus is a Top 6 class batsman to boot. A no brainer.

Other than O'Neill all have recently returned from injury or are still injured. So lacking match fitness needed for Test cricket. O'Neill also played fine in recent A series.
Hazlewood a big loss as he was easily the pick of our attack in Perth. Bolands international career once again added to by JH. What is recovery time for a side strain?

You never know we might play Marsh at 6 Webster at 7Except we’re picking specialist bowlers, not all rounders.
there's 2 weeks between today and day 1 of the 3rd test in Brisbane. might be touch and goCA says Josh has a 'low-grade left side injury'. So hopefully he will only miss the one match.

well I hope we don't do that. that's ODI team thinkingYou never know we might play Marsh at 6 Webster at 7
Wouldn't put it past the selectors to do something crazy like that

Jordan Buckingham
Honestly why not?
I’d add NZ and SA to thatO’Neil for me is a bowler for English conditions nothing more. Everything about him is that. Very annoying Neser did his hamstring
It wont happenwell I hope we don't do that. that's ODI team thinking
Disagree on Johnson. But the others yeahSelections continue to be horrendous. Bowlers that should be far ahead of Abbott and Doggett in the pecking order:
Jhye Richardson
Lance Morris
Joel Paris
Fergus O’Neill
Spencer Johnson
Xavier Bartlett
Michael Neser (when fit)
You would hope so. He is what we will need. Just hit the stumps more and we should get better resuts.Surely Boland plays!
