Morris literally played his first domestic game of 2024 in the four days before you posted this, and took 2-75 for the match.
Johnson has played 6 matches in his entire career and only one was this season - he took 5-168 for the match and again, it just finished.
Those two would need to be incredibly lucky to just be parachuted straight in.
O’Neill has a fantastic record but he picked a very bad time to go wicketless across two innings and his season to date hasn’t set the world on fire.

Paris is very unlucky not to have been under closer consideration for higher honours before.

Abbott has taken 13 wickets at under 20 in his last two matches including a 5 wicket haul and a 4 wicket haul.

O’Neil for me is a bowler for English conditions nothing more. Everything about him is that. Very annoying Neser did his hamstring

Except we’re picking specialist bowlers, not all rounders.

Yep and being sort of okay in ODI’s doesn’t mean test quality. He’s no better than Stoinis with the ball

Other than O'Neill all have recently returned from injury or are still injured. So lacking match fitness needed for Test cricket. O'Neill also played fine in recent A series.

Hazlewood a big loss as he was easily the pick of our attack in Perth. Bolands international career once again added to by JH. What is recovery time for a side strain?

Depends on the severity could be a couple of weeks could be 6+

Jordan Buckingham

Honestly why not?

If it wasn't for the injury he would be my pick.

Of the three available, I get there is alot of love for Bolland but he doesn't do it for me, Abbott has given good Service to NSW and Australia in the short form but I don't think he is a test bowler.

Given all the injuries Doggett for me has the most upside but I think Buckingham long term will play for Australia.

Selections continue to be horrendous. Bowlers that should be far ahead of Abbott and Doggett in the pecking order:

Jhye Richardson
Lance Morris
Joel Paris
Fergus O’Neill
Spencer Johnson
Xavier Bartlett
Michael Neser (when fit)
Disagree on Johnson. But the others yeah

the selectors wont pick an underdone bowler as a replacement but the whole 1st test team were underdone (besides Carey)

admitting they made a blunder
