I thought he mouthed the word "why".

I like all the lip-reading experts here.

As far as we know, and won't learn anything more until a player talks to the media, Smith just got flustered with the sun and everything.

Is spidercam really necessary anyway? Whether it hit it or not, does it really offer anything worthwhile?

A great view of dropped catches after the ball hits the wire.

Gee ch9 moved on verrrry quickly from the dropped catch... Wonder why.. Nicholas: "word is that it didn't hit the camera or wire".. Who's word? Certainly not smiths..

There'd be some big money involved with the contract etc. Not surprising they are trying to play it down.

Are the players even worried about skin cancer these day? I can't remember the last time I've seen an Aussie with a broad brimmed hat, the baggygreen may be traditional but doesn't offer much sun protection!

If they're not gonna wear it on the 40 deg day in the Brisbane test I don't think they ever will!

Was taking the piss with my last post, obviously the wire has got in the way, but I'm more interested in what would happen if it created a catch? I.e. a batsman hits it, all of a sudden hits spidercam and deviates and a fielder gets a catch he otherwise wouldn't have. Is that just shit luck? Or should the fielding side withdraw their appeal in the name of cricket?
