100% we do, which is great and should mean a lot more of it. I wasn’t overly impressed with Perez today but thought he did a few nice things.

I think marns, drury and Perez hold their spots easily for next game.
Laz can fro, I know he was sub but **** you gotta show more than that to get another go at it.

Good goldy cameo, gus a great get. Sheeza single handedly makes game worth watching. One gather in traffic at half back was insane, hope souva can take a bit out of that 3rd how much better he is when he competes rather than play for frees.

Yeah Nick was good. At least one really solid contested mark, kicked straight, worked hard. Good response to a poor few weeks.

Key take away I think is the structure and the plan is on the right path. Need the cattle. The fact sheezel, an 18yo, and ziebell, a 32yo who many thought was past it and has previously had no all Australians or BnFs, are probably leading our BnF this year is a sad reality

Not sure whether I prefer todays or the loss in the 98 GF. It is close both good results.

We had 4 scoring shots in the first, 3 in the second, 3 in the third and four big shots in the last.
Book ended the game very well.

I said we’d be lucky to score four goals during the week and well it seems we didn’t need luck. We got there under our own steam.

Kind of pissy that Ford didn’t play.

Was a game best wiped from the memory, nothing good came out of it at all.
Sixth loss in a row and plenty of games still to come is the silver lining

We worked significantly harder without the ball than we have for the last month and were competitive most of the game.

We were pretty even for inside 50s most of the game but kicked just 4 goals from 48 entries. That's woeful and despite kicking a few goals, Larkey's lack of competitiveness in marking contests, casual approach and constant playing for free kicks is a big reason why we can't kick goals. And his mate Zurhaar - despite a couple of tackles - also squandered so many chances for an experienced player. Both those guys were really poor.

There also one glaringly sad positive about cunningtons situation... there is a replacement for him already in will Phillips. Probably why wilphil hasn't played, can't have the 2 in the same side.

Cunnington picked first, might be a straight swap AFTER next week given its against Port... or maybe wilphil has more of an axe to grind

But if the last few weeks were a showcase of how bad our backline is, today’s game was a showcase for how bad our forward line is.

Haven't won a quarter in four games but I feel a little happier tonight than I have in the previous three weeks. We were competitive, looked solid in defense and were able penetrate their defensive structure on numerous occasions, but just couldn't convert the opportunities in the forward 50. Still a lot of work to do.

I take today’s loss anytime over 98….. the year that shall not be spoken about….still gives me nightmares about that darn 1st half and……no no more… today’s by a country mile.

Wish we had‘ve pushed port harder to go and find another top 10 pick last year. Phillipou gonna be an absolute jet.
Our ordinary second round draft reaches coming home to roost. Hope we have that shit sorted going forward. Stop picking blokes with some sort of caveat attached to them. ie Can get it but can’t use it. Good athlete but can’t get the ball.
So many ordinary users of the ball and especially blokes who can’t kick distance. Mahony, Taylor, Scott, McKay, Lazaro, Larkey, Simpkin.
Anybody under 180cm should be super quick, no excuses.

Way too many of our players slow to a halt and brace for impact trying to collect the ball off the ground instead of attacking the footy with some confidence. Understand sometimes a a stoppage is the play but we seem to do that more often than not.

LDU and Jy were well held. Clarkson didn’t prepare enough for Lyon’s surgical dismantling of our game plan. We stood up defensively but Ross is constrictor with his control over his team and opposition.
