Autopsy Autopsy vs St Kilda - the Cam Zurhaar Almost Special

Despite the personnel available, and dominating the Hitout's 40 to 18, we lost centre clearances 10 to 4, such a vital part of the game to get pantsed at.
That was the biggest disappointment for me - how little we won around the ball. Structure and positioning and pressure without the ball was better, but we just keep getting beaten for the ball.

The core frustration today was momentum killers (and they weren't necessarily wearing blue and white). Clarkson is smart enough to be able to look at a game against a legitimate team today and say "we could have won if..." and that is not a position we've been in for a month.

I missed the whole first qtr and part of the second but I feel like we are getting our structure and game plan back.

I thought we were gonna be absolutely smashed today, we definitely were so s**t in front of the sticks but you can see we have somewhat our s**t together.
Could mount an argument that 22 blokes in blue and white jumpers did as well....

You’d think west Coke will pinch 1-2 games at home & the Dawks apart from last 2 weeks haven’t been too bad …
Wooden spoon 3 years in a row down u come!?👍😊
We are clearly the worst team in the comp once again. BS aside. It only took 7-8 rounds…

Way too many of our players slow to a halt and brace for impact trying to collect the ball off the ground instead of attacking the footy with some confidence. Understand sometimes a a stoppage is the play but we seem to do that more often than not.
Went shooting with a friend. He was talking about how flinching when shooting can become an issue. You flinch in. Anticipation of the gun firing and the kickback of the gun. To fix this you slowly pull the trigger not knowing when it'll fire or have someone else pull the trigger and you have your eyes closed/looking away from the trigger.

I feel like you could do something like this for football.

A. very hard game to watch and not belt the Stkilda support behind me.

that aside I agree unfortunately it looks like Cunners is about a second of his best touch he has always been slow but its his ball movement is now not good.

at least we sew some effort for most of the game

Effort can’t be questioned, but skill execution was god awful. LDU’s ball use today was abysmal. Simpkin terrible.

Zurhaar, Logue and Larkey dropping absolute sitters all warm up and then done the same during the game.

Drury was promising. McKay found some form. Sheez getting higher up the ground and delivering some pearlers inside 50. ✅

The next 3 weeks are going be a massive kick in the nuts though…

LMAc and Scott the biggest committers of this. Good players explode through the contest, don’t slow down to pick up the ball.

Cunners can’t bust out of a walk
Jyes one handed
LDU first game back and they were on him like stink on shit whenever he took possession

We are low on confidence and low in belief in each other. Doesn’t help with the many changes last couple of weeks. However we tried hard today Big Al is just gauging on who will be staying .
