So history repeats, except when it doesn't?
Can you ask yourself that question?
I simply pointed out that despite losing, the boys always have it within them to turn form around.
didn't we already witness this earlier this year?

Congratulations to Fremantle, they played the smarter football all day long.
We can talk about the umpiring, the loss of Blicavs (and Hawkins late) and the matter of our season being on life-support.
But the thing that really irks me is Jeremy Cameron's football.PLAYERCARDSTART5Jeremy Cameron

PLAYERCARDEND
His kicking today was atrocious, his marking contests lacked conviction and his defensive game is non-existent. He's been a liability for weeks.
The only thing embarrassing was the performance today. Freo are sitting 15th. We are playing for a spot in the finals.Cats have always had an inate ability to turn things around. Stupid is the person to simply dismiss any chance if we do make the 8.
Not saying we're going to win a flag but damn the emotional reactions that come during and after a loss on this forum is borderline embarrassing
When are we going to start calling out our centre midfielders as being terrible?
I think it’s cooked… is that a photo after round 3 or now?
Your optimism is admirable. Can you ask yourself that question?

Was watching with the binoculars today. When are we going to start calling out our centre midfielders as being terrible?
Freo can celebrate all they want they are in the same level as the saints an absolute joke of a club
I'm not sure it's "hubris" so much as.....let's trust the old blokes and give them one last shot at it to make sure we've squeezed every last drop from the orange.Too much hubris by the club this year. Thinking we'll roll into the season, underdone and finding form and fitness as the season rolls on and we'll "click" and find our best footy at the right time and go on to win it again.
It even comes from the coach with his "we're the danger" remark the other week and thinking our best is good enough when we haven't displayed it nearly enough.
We've played maybe 5 games of good footy this year max. Too many players out of form/out of confidence/ or lack of hunger to go again.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to see 4 flags in my life, but bloody disappointed we can't go back to back even once.
See you next year.
Your optimism is admirable.
They won their grand final and I will never forget their antics after that finals game at KP throwing around tissues and being flogs towards the supporters after the gameThey just beat us on our home ground and you're bagging them?
Weird take.
We've got a glass full of pith and seeds at the moment.I'm not sure it's "hubris" so much as.....let's trust the old blokes and give them one last shot at it to make sure we've squeezed every last drop from the orange.
It looks like we have indeed done that, the orange is dry, so that's that. At least we didn't die wondering.
There was no ruck craft at all to what Stanley was doing, he was just hitting the ball indiscriminately most of the time straight to a Freo player.Stanley absolutely dominated the ruck contests.
Stanley's not the problem, it's the blonks at his feet.
This essentially is the long and short of it. As bad as we were across the board, we would've won this by 6 goals if Cameron had his kicking boots on and Stewart his normal composure. We are playing bad enough that those two performances were enough to swing the result.Simply put, we're gone. We just concede too much in the midfield, and then when your best defender makes two costly errors late in the game, and your superstar forward just couldn't hit the ocean if he jumped off the Fairstar, we just look like this. We always seem to lose in that 'close enough' kind of way this season, but honestly the sum of the parts of the year sees us just too far away.
And Blitz suffering a hammy and Hawkins looking similarly lame, i just can't see us mustering any more than one more win...all four sides are above us, including the top two. We might wind up with a pick in the top 10 given it's likely we'll fall below a lot of clubs, so maybe take it like perhaps a 2006 and reset for next season. Brilliant flag last year, but i think Father time might be getting his own back. We need to develop some midfield bulls to try and wrest some control there. And that is a process that will take time.
A bit like with Enright's 300th, sometimes we really fall flat with honouring a club legend. But seriously, when you get close to two goals up at home in the last quarter against an interstate side, and lose...it's saying we just aren't that good anymore.
Must have snuck them in while I was mopping the floors.Danger with 15 touches…
Dempsey no. Knevitt yesDumb, lazy football that exposes the rubbish players we carry: we do it to ourselves.
Time to put the old tier out to pasteur and give the kids like Dempsey, Knevitt et al a run. We are gonna get flogged the next two weeks anyway, may as well get something out of it.
We were losing to freo before he was injured.
