Blicavs missing from an already struggling midfield is just too much for us to cover.
I didnt mind seeing the coaches throw a few new names in there. Rohan actually did well. But it shows how much they know that the midfield is lacking.
Not sure what the answer is for the rest of the year. Not sure there is one to be honest.

We invest dozens upon dozens of hours each year to following Geelong. It's a big part of everyone's lives. Of course we're going to react emotionally when there's a result that most likely ends our finals chances and therefore our season.

It would be bizarre it people weren't emotional about that.

There was no ruck craft at all to what Stanley was doing, he was just hitting the ball indiscriminately most of the time straight to a Freo player.

That would be to a Freo player in front of his opponent.

This season has been a failure on so many metrics. We start the season with a big gap of midfielder and as the season has gone on its been the biggest glaring weakness in our squad. We need to find a minimum of 2 genuine quality midfielders.

But even then, the losses to GWS and Freo at home are horrendous losses. Season is finally cooked. Drop guys like Stanley who have been poor for a while, bring in kids like Conway and start looking to our next flag tilt around 2026. Time to get games into the kids.

They won't play the young guys until we are a mathematical impossibility of making the 8. However I don't think they would be any worse than a bunch of our players today.

Too much hubris by the club this year. Thinking we'll roll into the season, underdone and finding form and fitness as the season rolls on and we'll "click" and find our best footy at the right time and go on to win it again.

It even comes from the coach with his "we're the danger" remark the other week and thinking our best is good enough when we haven't displayed it nearly enough.

We've played maybe 5 games of good footy this year max. Too many players out of form/out of confidence/ or lack of hunger to go again.


Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to see 4 flags in my life, but bloody disappointed we can't go back to back even once.

Frederick's goal in the last: no pressure, no bump / push / anything to effect the kick. Couldn't believe it.

Started with no intensity and not well prepared. Fremantle was way to good and deserved the win. We need the last 4 wins against the top sides to make the 8. We have no hope.

The team is very ordinary and plays with no heart or run. Poor skills and looked way too slow.

Overconfidence in our ability will be put to rest. When they reassess they will conclude we are lucky to be where we are.

Graham may have got 25 disposals but there were many costly ones. Very disappointing.

Blicavs out with a hammy is the last straw. It appears to be a big one.

Hawkins is way too slow of the mark and it is a major issue. Concerned about him playing on next year. Perhaps his knee was playing up but it is an ongoing issue.

Danger can play only in small patches and nowhere as powerful as before.

Holmes is too young and inconsistent. Disposal can be pathetic. Two positives this year are Bruhn will come on. Great tenacity but needs time and too young. And Olly Henry will come on. He kicks goals.

The untried younger players need a go. Knevitt and Olly Dempsey in particular.

I think our major issues are a key forward and midfield accumulator. Midfield is the biggest glaring weakness. Smith, here we come. Pick up Grundy if he wants to come. Time to make changes now.

Our season ended well before tonight. Tonight was just the final realization for most fans.

Yeah. We’ve been poor all season, but a few bright glimpses (mostly against crap teams) and Chris Scott’s optimism has kept us all thinking that we are actually a good team. The reality is that we’re a bottom 10 team and have been all year.

We had Hawkins giving the backline a spray last week then missing a set shot from 30m out directly in front and today we had Stewart giving Stanley / midfield a spray then turning it over at critical times on multiple occasions in critical positions.
