I’d almost be playing Marshall on the flank , Dixon in the pocket and Lord at full forward , might be one too many talls but Lord does the bringing the ball to the ground role if he can’t mark it as well as the other two in fact probably better than Marshall who gets swamped in a pack , of course Marshalls kicking and smarts are invaluable and it might be good for him to have less pressure .
if it were In ; Marshall, Dixon , Boak and Jonas guess I’d go
out; Bonner, Evans , Mead and Jones ( though I’d prefer Jones to Jonas )
Not sure about the extra tall for balance but it would be nice to keep Lord in

I'm still worried about the Marshall situation. He's one more concussion away from his whole career being in jeopardy. I've heard a lot of differing theories regarding length of time off but I'd be going with longer rather than shorter here.

We have a dilemma on our hands this week verses Hawks. If Boak, Dixon, Marshall and Jonas come in, who do we drop?

Or is there anyone from the list above going to miss out because we have now won the last 8 games, and it's not good changing up too many players?

The club might look at Rioli, Bonner, Mead, Lachie Jones, Farrell, Evans, McEntee or Lord as maybe ( i said maybe ) outs.

Plenty of passengers that can be dropped, not much of a dilemma in my opinion. I think in the last couple weeks in particular we've relied heavily on out top 5-10 players. And haven't got much at all from our last 5 players or so.

If we got a lot from our last 5 players then they wouldn't be our last 5 players.

Agree - taking the slight possibility of a premiership run this year out of mind, the correct call is probably to ice him for the year. We want him to be a key player for us for another 8-10 years.

Nah, his bumps haven't been that bad, there's an over abundance of caution with him for some reason. There have been worse in other teams that haven't come off.

There should be an abundance of caution when it comes to brain injuries. This is way more important than football.

OVER abundance.

Sucks how McEntee isn't an obvious out anymore. Cheeky form finding motherf*****
A lot of the angst against McEntee was that he fit the mould of every other nugget that Ken has become fixated on playing regardless of performance. Unlike Neade, S. Gray or Sutcliffe, he's growing into the pressure forward role nicely.

He definitely does look like a classic inside mid though. If one of our mids go down, he would be a decent option to throw in the centre.

Cornes on Todd Marshall
“I saw him this morning, he was really, really positive. Last week it was more the whiplash, the sore neck, but saw him this morning and he gave me the all-clear in his mind, so he has to get through a couple of training sessions first but he's feeling a lot better than he was last week.

Cornes expects selection pressure

Also from the above article, apparently Trent McKenzie's nickname is Moose. Maybe he's Canadian?

“(The backline has) done a really good job, even Lachie Jones coming in (to the) backline on the weekend performed really well. Moose (Trent) McKenzie and Aliir have been really holding the group up and performing really well as a group.”

There should be an over abundance lol.
There won't be a sport then. If they really cared about concussions the fact is contact sports would be banned, the same way we go health and safety on any other issue (like fencing around swimming pools for example).

Even looking at the speccies with the knee going into the back of the head compared to the shoulder bumps Marshall has received shows the over abundance in his case, maybe he has other issues we are unaware of.

edit: the whiplash makes a lot more sense.

Obviously you can't legislate against concussion. The concern with Marshall is multiple concussions in a very short space of time with very minimal contact.

Yeah I can't let this post slide.
1. Neade, S Gray, and Sutcliffe are three completely different players
2. McEntee is 176 cm and would have his arse handed to him at stoppages against any genuine midfielder

If he ends up turning out like Josh Mahoney then he will have no problems mixing it with the best mids!

I didn't say they were the same player. The thing they have in common is that they all kept getting picked in the forward line without showing anything. People were scarred from that and fearing McEntee would haunt us similarly.

Lachie Neale is 177cm, Zorko is 175cm.

Of course he's way off at the moment in terms of body mass but he's got some real terrier, extractor traits like a Neale or a T. Mitchell, and a small inside extractor is one element missing from our midfield mix at the moment. That's what he was drafted as, and he's already attended a couple of centre bounces.

Sicily out for us is big. Scrimshaw would come in, as like for like as we can get, tall intercept defender with beautiful skills and it’d be the only change I assume.

Hardwick, Blanck, Seamus
Weddle, Frost, Scrimshaw
Bramble, Day, Amon
Moore (C), Kosi, Butler
Breust, Lewis, Brockman
Reeves, Newcombe, Nash (will run with someone)
Mackenzie, Worpel, Impey, Meek
