I would not play Dixon until after the bye.

Give him some time off to let his body heal.

Lord is doing enough to fill in for him.

We need Dixon fit and firing at the business end of the season.

Hawthorn has accepted James Sicily's one-game suspension for his bump on Anthony Caminiti. He will miss this weekend's trip to SA to face Port Adelaide

What's with all the calls to drop Bonner?
He is starting to show signs of getting back to his best.

You might see things different then myself, but some of his defensive efforts have been deplorable over the past two weeks. Maybe I’m judging him harshly, but he seems to hesitate & ball watch far too much for my liking.

Jackson hasn’t played in over a fortnight, so he won’t get picked.

I think Lord deserves to retain his spot, the more exposure at the highest level the better.

Happy to see Sinn come in for either Mead or Bonner.

If Boak & Charles are still sore, give them another week off.

Would agree with this, unfortunately they've got to manufacture a way for Jonas to return also.

Surprised so many in here are calling for Lord to be dropped. Moves really well and has been doing a lot of heavy lifting, I wasn't convinced after his debut but the game against Melbourne he really stood up. Give Lord one more against the Hawks then maybe a run in the SANFL on some weaker opponents.

When does Rioli's performance start to be scrutinised harder?

Jonas will be back. Only one of Marshall or Dixon should be back at this stage.
He was starting to hit his straps before he got suspended. 2 weeks of no footy, so probably needs another game to find touch again. Hardly anyone bashing the door down for his spot either.

Deplorable is probably harsh - but he's certainly not been great. The issue for me is that he isn't utilising his weapons - the run and delivery with his kicking seems to be quite limited this season. A few weeks ago he missed a few shots at goal that someone with his kicking ability really should have nailed. I don't see him making those great line breaking passes either.

In the past, his defensive struggles were obviously clear to see, but you could also see why he kept getting games. There was some real weapons to work with. I'm not seeing that as much this season. He's fast becoming a nothing player.

Out: Mead & Bonner
In: Jonas & Marshall
Sub: Sinn
Give Dixon another week. A fit fresh Dixon changes our team so much. With Marshall in, Lord can chop out in the ruck a lot more. Jackson should be in front of Sinn for a gig. But with Jackson not playing for 2 weeks he really needs a full game at SANFL.

Unfortunately Lord will go out if one of Marshall or Dixon is good to go.

Mead and Evans should probably be outs this week. You would assume the coaching staff will bring Jonas back in. Jackson could be half a chance this week.

I'd like to see Lachie Jones keep his spot.

Rioli and Bonner are on thinnish ice.

Rioli and Bonner are on thinnish ice.
Bonner has always been a fringe prospect if we're playing well I think. Has an elite kick but seems slow to think through the situation facing him and so is prone to turnovers.

I get that Rioli is an outside player recruited to make the quick pick ups and scores from forward entries. But jeez his unwillingness to bend his back and pick up the ball in tight situations annoys the feck out of me. Find myself yelling 'put your head over the ball' far too often.

The injuries to Dixon and Marshall have been a blessing to some extent. Lord’s come in and looks like a player. Plus we didn’t drop a game in the process. A good result.
Lord won’t play when Dixon and Marshall come back but I’m looking forward to watching him play alongside 1 of them. He’ll monster a third tall defender.

If Marshal is fit and healthy, then he comes in and a small goes out. Lord must remain in the side and Dixon given time to rehabilitate properly and as well as can be.

Jonas will come in and for me, even though Bonner showed brilliant signs towards the end of last year and made me change my mind about him, this year, especially the game against Melbourne put me right off him again and it's time to relieve him of league football. May sound harsh but he needed to really apply himself like he did at the end of last season and for mine, we have a lot of younger, up-and-coming players that should be played before him as we get more players available.

Boak comes in as well for for Evans.

I wouldn't drop Jones. I reckon he did well and needs a bit of a run in the league side to get up to speed with the intensity and pace of AFL football again and it will do wonders for his confidence.

If we treat Hawthorn lightly, which I don't think we will given our mind set but if complacency creeps in, we could well be punished.

What bothered me about him the past few weeks is when he gets the ball in contested situation rather than give the quick instinctive release to keep us moving he looks to see where contact is coming from and waits to absorb the tackle for the ball up or out of play stoppage.

There are many elements to his game to like but those moments are grating me now.

Burton was our best defender and in our top 5 players for ages... moved in to the forward line, looks all at sea now, and people are saying to drop him?

Just stick him back in defence and let him get his focus back. He's too good to play in the SNAFL.

Its identical to what happened with Dooogs
Thought he played well on Lever in the Melb game.
