Changes for round 3 VS Tigers

On review of last week with the majority of emotions out of the game- I actually thought darling played pretty well. His defensive pressure was very good- got involved when the tide was against us.

The kick to set up Cripps in the 3rd was a thing of beauty. Which is why I'd love to see him push up to the wings more- his delivery inside 50 is usually as good as anyone.

Sheed in for Jetta im pretty happy with. Redden did some nice things on the weekend also and deserved his spot.

Darling was our best forward in the first half along with Hill.

In what is a good sign, when the chips are down he stood up. Although he didn't blow the game open he kept us in it and held his own.
Much like he did against the Bulldogs, he was one who kept up his standard performance.

Any criticism of his game last week is completely unfounded, outside of a kick to Gaff when he should have had a shot, he did little wrong.
Overall he could have got involved more and kept up a better 4 qtr effort (which is a common critique of his overall game), also interesting that he didn't register a tackle, but he did apply strong pressure.

Lol at resting Mitchell, I am sure Mitch has already informed Simo that resting and molly coddling players is the reason we don't win flags. Toughen up and play.
As for Jetta, well I think many are expecting him to be something he is not, he was a very average performer at Sydney and he still is here. 12 possessions is his best footy, he will do a freakish run one day and kick a magic goal now and then but that is it. We are and have seen his best. No point waiting around for something he is not capable in delivering. If we play him then we should expect his 12 odd possessions.

Agreed, from what I've seen of Mitchell he lives and breathes footy and would tell the staff to shove it unless he was truly battling to get on the park.

First game at the MCG in WC colours? No way he misses it.

Mitchell said pre-season that he was a chance of missing one of the games with a short turnaround and a lot of things would have to go right if he was to play both games.

He also said that missing games with niggles is expected at his age and he expected to play 18-20 games.

I think he's a bit more pragmatic rather than having the attitude of "I'll play until my leg comes off" that you assume he has.

A footy season is an endurance event, not a sprint.

But now its all about the science

Jetta is on the plane, was just on eagles snap chat.

Do we actually have a history of resting players? I can't think of many instances, if any, of us resting players without reason. More often we've played guys who should have been given a week off, so the opposite of resting

I tend to disagree with your views on Jetta but on available evidence you're right and I'm wrong. He needs a game where he makes a meaningful impact

Mate I really hope Jetta does produce one day the form many think he has in him.

Thats two correct decisions in 2 weeks from the selection panel, good work

I just wish some our kids in the WAFL would step up and put on some real midfield selection pressure. Partington, Duggan, Sheed......2 of those need improve and displace Hutchings and Redden to East perth

Hard to separate Redden and Sheed IMO. Both very similar players.
