Changes for Round 5 - Sydney at SCG

I agree Scotland that Mitch Brown was average yesterday, he's had two in a row now.

Hes a young key position forward, it takes time. Kennedy has played twice as many games and is just getting consistency together. Brown still looks a little unsure of his knee, but he does some good things each week. Give him time. I'd be happy if he stayed there all year.

OUT: Kerr, Spangher, Hansen
IN: Shuey, Hurn, McKinley
this!!!
I endorse both of these posts. If Butler was available I'd have S. Selwood out as well. Don't know whats going on with Scooter but its not good enough. Make an example like they did to Mackenzie.

If Shuey still not right, then Swift back in.

B: McGinnity , Glass, B Jones
HB: Hurn, Schofield, Waters
C: Rosa, Priddis, A Selwood
HF: Le Cras, Kennedy, Shuey
F: Hams , Brown, McKinley
Foll: Naitanui, Masten, Ebert
I/C: Cox, Swift, S Selwood, Dalziell

Both times he had a bloke square in his back with his arms splayed out to the sides while the player riding him was holding the ball to him. How does one make an attempt in such a situation?

Exactly, and the second one he was basically tackled without the ball, arm over his shoulder and his opponent rode him like a bronco, pulled the ball under him and locked his hands around the ball to make sure it didn't come out. Crap decision.

Watching the same game?

Hansen was alright.

Lead up well, just didnt finish.

At the SCG we dont really need leading forwards.

Bring back Lynchy to smash some goals from 60+ :thumbsu:

Kerr is no big loss IMO.

Bring in a kid who wants to bust his guts :thumbsu:
Totally Agree with Cuzz here.
Spangher must be under pressure too..

Schofield is just about set as our CHB.
Naaah I wouldn't say that CK. I think woosh is going with the best player who suits the oposition. like Rnd1 2 big strong forwards we had 2 big strong Defender. Rnd 2, 3, 4 we played against more mobile forwards so we went with more mobile Defenders, Seems like the right play IMO. Schoey woulda been Killed by John Brown if he had played.

Im suprised that no one has picked up how dreadful Brett Jones was again tonight!!!!!!! Thats 3 strikes in a row I think He's OUT.

Outs: Kerr (inj), B.Jones- Omit
In: Nicoski, Hurn.

Both said they were ready to go on the news Friday night and as we are playing Sydney I believe A + S. Selwoods will keep their spots, and Schoey and Spang will go with Goodes at CHF.
Hansen will play as he will be our link man out of defence.
HURN to Hansen to Kennedy = Goal.
Nico will play on the HFF and Hurn on the HBF.
Masten will be in the center with Priddis and Adam in the Ruck. Rosa and Embers on the Wing.

FB: Waters, Glass, Spangher
HB: Hurn, Schofield, Dalziell
C: Embley, Masten, Rosa
HF: Hams, Kennedy, Nicoski
FF: LeCras, Hansen, Brown
RR: Naitanui, Priddis, A.Selwood
Int: Ebert, Cox, S.Selwood, McGinnity

Emg: Stevens, Swift, Mckinley.

EA, what I meant was that I see Schofield as our future CHB (and E-Mac as our future FB, for that matter). Though, I agree with what you said in regards with us choosing certain type of defenders for certain types of forwards.

Not a bad effort but the Swans can play a very tall forward line with Goodes, Bradshaw and Jesse White plus Seaby :p and Mumford.

Either Spangher or dare I say MacKenzie may be needed this week to play on the resting ruck forwards. Swans are much taller forward than Essendon.

Likewise we need one less tall in our forward line as we are playing at the shorter SCG which doesn't give any CHF much room to lead into. Kennedy, Brown and Hansen forward simply won't work at the SCG and the Swans have a hard running backline with Matner, Kennelly and Malceski plus Bolton.

Hansen should go out and either Waters or McGinnity play on the HFF and shut down Malceski.

Out: Kerr, Spangher, Jones

In: Shuey, Hurn, Stevenson/Swift

Then put Brown to CHB and Schofield as 3rd tall defender. Hansen has done enough to keep his spot. Team would look like this...

FB: Hurn, Glass, Schofield
HB: McGinnity, Brown, Waters
Mid: Rosa, Priddis, S Selwood
HF: Ebert, Kennedy, Embley
FF: Shuey, Hansen, LeCras

Followers: Naitanui, Selwood, Masten

Interchange: Stevenson/Swift, Cox, Dalziell, Hams

Isn't that rewarding mediocracy? For a mature CHF in his 7th season, 3 marks and 1 goal isn't even close to being "enough".
You can't drop a player for not being a superstar. Otherwise we'd have about 3 blokes left in the side. Hansen did his job which is more than I can say Lynch has done at FF the last couple of seasons. He might be shit but he hasn't done enough bad things to get dropped at the moment.

OUT: Hansen, Kerr, Spangher

B: Waters, Glass, Bones

FF: LeCras, Kennedy, McKinley
RR: Naitanui, Masten, A. Selwood

INT: Cox, Scooter, Rosa, Swift/Shuey

Although with Sydney's ability to go tall up forward I wouldn't be surprised if we kept Spangher in.

Are you serious?? Hansen is an grade A spud. He looks like a 50 year old running around out there. Even one of the commentators said it looked like his hamstring was a about to snap as he tried to run after a loose ball. He got half his disposals from free kicks and offers nothing at AFL level. Its time to move on. Hansen out, McKinley in.

The way I see it is that Lynch, McKinley and Hansen all have very similar deficiencies and Hansen gets the nod because he's the most likely to take a mark and provide a contest.

Don't get me wrong if Hansen got dropped I'd be happy cause he is a spud. However I would think it is fairly harsh the way hes played the last couple of weeks and I think theres other players who deserve to get the chop first.

In: Mackenzie, Shuey, McKinley

Out: Kerr, Hansen, Embley

I dont think Embley played well last night, a 25% kicking efficiency is not good enough IMO.

Hansen is just not good enough to play seniors. He will probably dominate at WAFL level though.

Mackezie: We need him this week with Goodes, White & dare I say Seaby.

McKinley: Much more promising than Hansen, also a proven goalkicker. Get him in!
