I can accept that. What is amusing is the same type of person instantaneously turning on that player. It’s always the player’s fault. Greedy, piss weak, mummy’s boy that’s ‘home sick’ or just no good at all. It’s never us, it simply can’t be.
Gov, Lever and Cameron were greedy, Tippett was a lot of things.

Experience is the only reason I can think of. Not that that’s helped him lately

Would Jones be out of his depth in a showdown? I tend to go with Blight essentially saying “play the kids, they will give their all”

Its going to be a wet game on Saturday, I would prefer the mature body and experience that Jones brings over Douglas.

Yes I know Jones is in his first year and I know that Douglas is cooked.

At this point of the season, I do not begrudge the selection of David MacKay over Chayce Jones.

The coaches and selectors would have enormous faith we are a premiership thread and they are picking a team to win every game.

We are sitting fifth with a half a dozen winnable games left in the season putting us on 14 to 15 wins and a top 4 chance.

Yea, can't wait until the same players shit the bed like they do every year, and we get knocked out of the finals.

Or maybe we don't get it ??

Obviously. I mean there’s no doubt that our coaching group never make selection mistakes. Because they’re employed, they’re all knowing and are clearly league leading in all facets.

Look, most of us agree that out talent ID is very high level. So where is our success? Why do we continue to be a mediocre performer reliant on a disastrous GF to prove our credentials. Why has it continually gone wrong for us. Remove the GF appearance in 2017 and our last 6-8 years is pretty average. Maybe it’s a cultural issue and we do get it.

I don’t think he will play wing because Seeds and Atkins we have that covered, it’s a centre mid we are down on.

Smith can’t play forward, whereas Milera can. The only place I can see Smith is in the middle because surely Mackay is playing half back, because he couldn’t possibly justify a spot elsewhere.
No bigger critic of DMac than me, but after the slop Laird and Smith served up last week, I’d just about prefer his attack on the ball in defence than those 2 soft..cks

Has SPP had that bad a year that he cant get in the side ahead of Motlop ?
Yes, but one is an inside mid & the other a lazy outside mid. More competition for inside spots, particularly with Boak returning to the midfield.

Kenny must be holding on to hope of another Motlop miracle. Surely lightening doesn't strike twice....

They were both shit, so if he’s playing there Smith will have to play somewhere else and given we gave him some midfield time in the last qtr, has me hoping it might happen

Well Douglas is cooked, so his experience is irrelevant I have been a supporter of his, but time to invest in someone else.

Mackay I can sort of understand as he isn't cooked.

Of course they make mistakes, the selection of DMac is one, as is the selection of Douglas.

Hell even Greenwood is borderline.

It's just that when these mistakes happen we act as if we are the only club who makes them. Here's the thing, we aren't.

However the guys in charge of these clubs have a better idea of their squads than we plebs on the interweb. So maybe we are wrong sometimes.

I'd like to think not, but clearly we are.

Douglas is on par with thommo in his final year. The difference is the club had the courage to drop thommo to the sanfl for most of the year. The fact Douglas and Mackay are still wheeled out is an indictment on our recruiting or development. Likely our development under our current coaches and match committee.

Not correct. Dougie is Thommo for his last 2/3s of his penultimate season. Played whilst not deserved of a spot. Thommo was beyond cooked in his final year.

We constantly allow players to stay in the side regardless of performance, intensity, attack on the ball/man, etc.

It becomes accepted, so shouldn't be a surprise when other guys do it.

We were at “we will see” yesterday. Today, we’re beyond that. The likelihood of being brave deminishes every week that we get closer to finals. It’s done, you greatly exaggerated our newfound selection policy.
Weve been through this, you forecast these changes every week and we've got to r16 and you're right.

Good on you.

Apologies for being right. If you summon your inner Craig’s, you’ll predict Dougie’s continued selection as well. Predicting Dmac’s resurrection wasn’t on the radar, but summoning Craigy makes it entirely unsurprising. It’s consistent with philosophy, if not 2-3 weeks earlier than expected.
A broken clock is right twice a day, you're not running at twice a week.

Murphy selection is 110% safe if the player coming in is Lynch, because we'd actively have to replace Murphy on top of that due to the desperate need for defensive pressure in a lineup.

There is only two people on our list who have a shot at that spot, and we see one of them as a midfielder (which I also see as so I'm a big fan of that).

CEY definitely replaces Greenwood when fit though. We showed that a few weeks ago.

Lynch in results in Dougie replacing Murphy. Dougie’s experience will carry the day. Back it in, it’ll happen if it’s a choice between the 2.

It won’t, their selection is proof that our coaches, Pyke at the helm, absolutely, 100%, DO NOT GET IT. They won’t. It won’t happen until Pyke is gone. He enables those below him.
New coach won’t change anything. We need better support around Pyke. **** can get stuffed as well. Campo must go

Lynch comes in and Dougie replaces Murph. It’s much more likely than unlikely. If you can’t see that as a likelihood, then you’ve only just starting supporting our club.
Douglas the forward/mid replaces Murphy the small forward..... OK.

I'm starting to think you don't watch us play.
