3aw reporting he limped off training track with back spasms
Yeah, but unless someone reliable says he is in doubt, the 'in doubt' is purely an opinion, not fact.

I know Cleary and a few other culprits aren't investigative journalists, but it bothers me they can't keep their opinions to themselves. State facts, not opinions.

The fact is though he left today's training with back spasms, that has to put a cloud over his availability, Bont is no mere mortal though so is every chance to get himself right. It'll be left to the last minute before deciding if he is fit to play.

That's your opinion.

I'd suggest if a player has joined a rehab group, saying they're in doubt to play, as in they're not definitely playing, isn't an opinion it's a matter of fact.
Where has it been reported Bont is in the rehab group?

I'm happy to be convinced otherwise, but I haven't read anything definitive.

All I know so far is he left the track early.

I haven't even been convinced Bont suffered from back spasms. All I've seen so far is one Tweet.

Not in dispute - He left the track early.

Possible opinion - He experienced back spasms.

Likely opinion - He is in some doubt.

As you state the only matter that seems a fact is he left the track early and for now everything else is up in the air

That's not how "journalism" works :(

Track watchers (Official WOOF on X) have said "Definite limp when Bont headed over to the rehab area".

If you can question the certainty of his availability, that by it's very definition is "in doubt", which you can do because he left the track early, and was seen in the rehab area. Whether you believe the X account in question is up to you, but they are always providing accurate information on training.

Could have been a call of nature after a hot vindaloo last night. You can appear a bit proppy after one of those.

Plausible

If he did not reappear I would say almost certain.

Thank you.

As I said, I'd only seen the single Tweet.

As someone who studied Journalism in my younger years, I can guarantee you ethically that's how it's meant to work. I still have contact with some of my colleagues from back in the day and one of them is very strong in their opinion that they'd rather get it right 100% of the time, rather than chase scoops, form opinions that end up being accurate, but 10% of the time your info turns out to be false.

Check out this Tweet for example:

That's all fact. No opinion at all. While most readers may form the opinion that Brayshaw would be in doubt, Woodcock is leaving that opinion up to the reader.

A BIG difference between the two Tweets and Woodcock has done exactly what he is ethically employed to do. Facts, not opinions.

I did say "journalism" :)

So vindaloo spasms it is then?!

I have an opinion on vindaloo - I quite enjoy it. It's also a fact it has minimal effect on me, other than an enjoyable after-taste and satisfied sensation in my stomach. So I'm never proppy post-vindaloo.

But I don't profess to have journalistic qualifications to report on the qualities or consumption of said delicacy. I am just an enthusiastic consumer.

I know North have looked better in recent weeks and this becomes more of a danger game with Bont possibly out
But if theres a game we can afford to have him miss its this week. I have faith in McRae, Libba, Richards and Treloar. Will also be a good test for Sanders.

Wasn’t Bont crook all week leading up to the Dockers game and he took the piss? Doubt he misses, if he does you know it’s serious as the great man doesn’t miss games.
