How the heck was losing to a terrible team at home a promising sign?
At least there were times during the Sydney game when we could see the plan which Nicks wanted to implement. There was no system whatsoever at any stage when we lost to Port.
** Clutching at straws
He was also second to Doedee in intercept marks the year he was drafted. Natural defender.I actually think Murphy has more tools to be a decent small defender.
Fast, tough, booming kick, can tackle, good pressure.
I'd certainly be willing to try him there and move Laird out.
In saying that, the glimpses I saw of will Hamill (I think it was him) has me thinking he's the future, so I'd much rather get games into him.
Drew Petrie?
From half time in last year’s Showdown our game plan has been confused and confusing (I choose to ignore the 95 point win over Golden Tankers). At least there were times during the Sydney game when we could see the plan which Nicks wanted to implement. There was no system whatsoever at any stage when we lost to Port.

Didn't cut deep enough at all. Chapman and the members of list management remain almost in tact. Also those older players who have no love for the club at all are never going to reach their full potential or ceiling again in a crows guernsey regardless of coach. I lnow from personel experience that employees who hate or resent their employer can be a major destabilising influence in an organisation. Especially on new recruits. Burton and Pyke(and by extension Chapman and our football director) have left a long lasting mess which was not adequately dealt with during the review.
Very half arsed Crows style rebuild at the moment.
Couldn't agree more the writing was on the wall after 2018, experienced players had trade value but were kept and too top things off the most exciting young talent to come out of SA for a while was there to be traded up too. But if your lukoscious or Rankine why would you go back, gold coast look closer to playing finals then the crows
Look at port they replenished in that draft gettingduursma, rozee and butters have invigorated the club, it's exciting, add in Marshall Powell pepper there future looks Rosey.
We're port less experienced than the crowd on the weekend.
Galluci where is he? He has pace and shown glimpses in the past,
Round 1 was ok, last week was insipid,
Sloane
Crouch x2
O'Brien
Talia
Milera
Jones
Fogarty
Are the only players that should be pencilled in for the remainder of the year
Atkins
McKay
Gibbs
Shouldn't play again
Laird
Smith
Lynch
Trade bait
If the power are going to win the flag it must be this year. Blight went through it last night on the radio(that guy seriously knows his stuff and should be on our board btw). Most premiership teams are around 115 to 120 games of experience on average. After this year their team will dip with 9 players 29 plus hitting a tipping point decline. I don't feel they are a genuine chance this year but this is there small window. Btw the 97 crows were an exception to the rule with 75 games experience on average. Shows you what a great performance that was.Nope. Port had daylight on us in that facet (like nearly every other) Ports average age was 26.6 with 116.6 games of experience. Ours was 25.1 year with 85.9 games.
Still, I can't argue with most of that. Seems rather reasonable, though I'd have B.Crouch as trade/FA bait. I'm an open critic of our midfielders though.
No he's not, not even close.Lyons is a very good kick

I agree with others, can't have both Crouch brothers in there at the same time.It amazes me a midfield of Sloane / crouch x 2 can be beaten so easily in the midfield
Can you tell me someone who does provide better output? I’m struggling to think of someone who impacts a game for longer than 5 minutes atmYou don't keep your spot for giving maximum effort but producing minimum output. I would rather play a talented player who is bloody lazy. At least I would know what I need to work on.
Nar he stops a lot of intercept marks by throwing himself into aerial contests. Maybe I’m a fan because in a team full of players who genuinely lack heart and appear soft in the contest, he does notYep and needs to know aerial is not his go just do Better at ground level
Cornes showed footage of him on channel 7 news tonight just jogging after Dursma, who ended up walking into goal unchallenged.
Players need to be accountable & give their all. If you are just going to jog after your opponent, you can jog off our list.
I agree. Its just going to be a strange approach for me for the next 5 years following the Crows. I have gone into almost every season thinking finals is a realistic possibility and sometimes during a season I start looking at flying to Melbourne in September.
You can forget that for at least 5 years. I think our next flag will be in the 2030s truth be told. Sobering thought is that a lot of Crows supporters from 97 and 98 probably wont be alive to see it.
Fortunately I punt on the AFL so in some ways I can still enjoy the AFL to some extent. I cannot recall being ever so disinterested in a Crows game, esp a Showdown during an AFL season, how that changes post pandemic is going to be interesting.
With its list management, recruiting and trading, the Club really needs to be innovative here and trying something from left field to get ahead and compete for a flag sooner than later.
Glory be also within the rules too.
Been a bay supporter since 1960. Grand Final wins have been far and few between. Even up here in Brisbane I still follow them. Funny how you become attached to a team.
