Both games Knight covered the most Km's of any Crows player coming off a restricted pre-season with an ankle, think people are just looking for an excuse to sling off at the club personally
Personally, I think your spot on.

They've probably got one eye on next week's Showdown, where Riley's intensity and pressure will be crucial.

Brought him back for two weeks, rest him for one and then back in for a high intensity Showdown.

Half backline of O'Shea, Rowe & Mullett, with Weitering playing in the 2nds lol.

Surely Knight is just dropped and being held back from the SANFL game in case there's a late out.

Saves him from being publicly omitted.

I wonder if the 'managed' thing is to bullshit the fans. Or to bullshit Knight (you haven't had much footy... long season ahead... safety first)?

If he's actually sore and being managed then he's obviously not an emergency.

I wouldn't be annoyed to lose him. Marchbank pretty much plays his position anyway, and he's better at it.

Weitering's too slow.

Daniel Talia isn’t the quickest. But not too many forwards in the AFL look forward to playing on him.

But don't you have Plowman and Rowe down there at times? And Jones? Surely Weitering is a better option now and in the future than any of those guys.

He's out of form and a liability at the moment. Needs a few weeks in the twos to get his game going.

If we can get him back to his first year form he'll be a good player.

The Fog is yet to destroy a SANFL standard team yet playing in the SANFL.

Great to see him back in, and we all want to see him playing well. So far, all of the guys given opportunities have stepped up and that's a massive upside to our current injury woes.

True, and a little disappointing but hopefully just a product of the team around him. Not uncommon for good forwards to look average when the midfield is getting destroyed.

Knight "managed" however still listed as an emergency

surely your either managed or you are not?

I'm assuming we have it purely because we need a 4th emergency and have no real plans to use him.

So wait, we were too tall a few weeks back, then brought in an extra tall player, and now we've brought in yet another tall player (I'm counting Kelly as a tall)?

Seems strange but I guess we'll see...

McGovern would have to be on his last chance, you'd think.

Calling Kelly as a tall is really stretching the definition of a tall, seeing he's around 189cm.

Surely you aren't running 16 km's in a game if you are sore ?

If a player was only going to manage two games in a row coming off an injury why play them at all?

That doesn't make it seem like Knight was ready to play AFL

So the threshold for bringing someone back in after injury is they need to guarantee they can play three cherry ripe games off the bat?

Sometimes I think you must spend half your days just looking for things to get mad at.

Mind you, something may have flared up from running those kms in a cooldown/during the week. Alternatively Knight did have surgery during the preseason, and we didn't give him much time to get the fitness back in the SANFL due to injuries. It's plausible we're just making sure he doesn't break down after a heavy work load.

I'm not overly judging this until I see what we do next week.

How long before your mob work out Bolton is a dud coach? how many more young guns is he going to destroy like Weitering?

Hampton's decision making is suspect to say the least

Based on what? Five consecutive games?

He showed plenty at GWS and was played out of position. He's had a bad run with us, and can't get his body right. That doesn't mean he has no ability, he has tons.

That said, every player has only so much time on a list to produce, and I accept that Curtly hasn't produced relative to the talent he has. And a club can only persist for so long. But I still rate Hampton. Given a decent run at it, if that ever happens, he can still be a gun at AFL level.

Time is running out for him to produce for sure, but I disagree completely that he lacks the talent to make it at AFL level.

Weiterings career is slowly being eroded by carltons ability to turn gun juniors into mothballs. Steven Silvagni must have been pissed at his son not being selected. I will now miss looking at his cry baby face when they zoom in on him and talk about how good his dad was.

Oh he has ability, like physically (if he was injury free) he has close to the perfect AFL build. Fast, strong, evasive etc.

Just he's such a suspect decision maker, and poor football IQ (and this harmed his career at GWS as well) which is crippling.
