I’m not writing him off, although he’s let his fans, and most importantly himself, down by losing out to a dud. EH has more talent in his little finger than Billy will ever have.

Extremely poor PS obviously. But Sunday is another day and another chance to show what he’s capable of.

Billy over the course of their careers has been equal to Berg.

I didn’t stack their careers up against each other. I talked about talent. Not always quantifiable especially in younger players. So it tends to be subjective, as my assessment is.

stengle shouldn't be dropped for the remainder of this year.. murphy has had 30+ games and shown us absolute nothing apart from the fact he can tackle and add pressure..

stengle‘s our most talented small forward option.. he just looks a little nervous at the moment.

AFL media really do have an unhealthy obsession with Bryce Gibbs. I don't see such a huge media storm over the fact that Liam Stocker can't get a game

The big deal is we paid 2 firsts for him. We went public the year before, then didn’t get it done. Made a big fuss that the price was too high and then paid it anyway a year later (too late). Now he is eating up TPP, not getting a game and stinking it up with his attitude. That has to be contagious. He is a big part of the problem that we have with senior players by the looks.

I can understand why he will remain a “story” until he leaves the club. Especially from the perspective of Victorian fans who drive media revenue.

It would be interesting if they are actually picking the side games ahead in order to make it through the 100 games in 10 days (sorry forget the actually number). Many will struggle to back up after 4/5 day breaks. Would not be surprised if there is a 'rotation' system on the AFC white board

If he still has cement hands, I wonder if we could re-program Himmelberg to play as a defender and to barely even try to mark the ball but just spoil everything that comes his way. If that doesn't work than I'm shit out of ideas other than delisting him. I don't think he can make it as a forward.

I’m not defending Nicks or the selection policy we’ve seen. I don’t think we have the balance right. But you can’t compare us with the bulldogs. We are 0-7, percentage ~ 50%. We have to get into a different mindset now. Like Gold Coast, Brisbane, Carlton of the last decade. In order to develop a list we need to be competitive. We don’t need to win games, but we can’t get flogged.

Ive been much happier with our last few performances. But if anything, we are already getting flogged with 5 sub 10 gamers. Calling for 6 or 7 or 8 puts us more into that absolute flogging category, which then becomes counter productive.

Not saying we need Mackay. Gibbs for example makes us even worse. But we do need to maintain or even improve the quality of our 22 to at least the level of the last few games.
