If the Wayne Carey version of Taberner that usually turns up against the Bombers plays we'll win. Especially with them having all those KPP outs to match ours.

Of course, Tabs looked more like 2015 Tabs in the Marsh so not holding my breath.

Am as worried about him as Fyfe going into the game lol

Hey fellas, good luck with this game (but not too much luck ;)). Interesting to see you guys say you want a defensive forward on Saad, Adam usually plays on the best small forward for the opposition so I'd guess he'll go to Walters, whilst you could play one on someone like McKenna if he plays half back or Redman. I think we end up as:

Aaron Francis (Sturt?) - Brandon Zerk-Thatcher (Lobb) - Adam Saad (Walters)
Mason Redman (Banfield) - Michael Hurley (Taberner) - Martin Gleeson (Colyer)
Kyle Langford - Dylan Shiel - Tom Cutler
Jacob Townsend - Jake Stringer - Orazio Fantasia
Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti - Shaun McKernan - Conor McKenna
Andrew Phillips - Devon Smith - Darcy Parish
Andrew McGrath - Zach Merrett - David Zaharakis - Jordan Ridley

Sorry, I picked it on football ability and form, not height.
Just a cheeky comment.

Colyer was gone, banished under Ross last year. Suddenly JLo doesn’t care about reputation but form. Think Colyer has peaked, but Bewley has been disappointing to say the least.
We’ve never really used an outside, uncontested ball kicker of recent years. Be nice to have a Gaff in Bewley. But he can’t win his own ball, yet always tend to be poor positioning defensively.

From memory I think Colyer missed both 2019 games against the Bombers due to form. After such a good pre-season I think he's earned a run in this one.

I'm backing Bewley in. May take a few weeks but he has the hunger so I think he'll come good for us this season.

I'd love to see Serong get a start too.

Nah he played the first one

After a summer of positive headlines and high level praise, Bewley has been most disappointing. He's just got to get his hands on the pill more.

But just t prove I am not above admitting the error in my previous ways, I think Colyer hasn't been too bad in the two games I've seen.
You can be fit as you like on the training track, but being match fit is something else.

(Not trolling) genuinely wondering if Stringer will play with such limited minutes ? Missed both marsh games for personal reasons ? Is there something going on there?
He played a VFL practice match and he played the match against Melbourne that we organised

Didn't see Dylan Clarke in the preseason - I would have thought he would get a job on Fyfe?

We thought so too until he didn't play in pre-season

I reckon Sam Switkowski should play. He could get some cheap uncontested goals. Only problem will be when he hand passes to another freo player they will need to sterilise the ball by washing it thoroughly with soap & water while singing Happy Birthday twice 😂

Too soon? 🤔

I hope I'm wrong, but I dont think Bewely will make it.
Yeah I'm not sure. I watched the replay last night and he wasn't as bad as I thought, certainly for the first quarter and a half. Whether he can get into a best 22 team without injuries, is very doubtful unless he shows a bit more.

Who are the confirmed "outs" for Essendon?

Daniher and who else?
From our top 30 or so: Bellchambers, Daniher, Stewart, Heppell, Hooker, Ambrose.

Stephen Hill's not injured - he's frozen. And as soon as we find the cure for quads we're gonna thaw out the guy and he's gonna be pretty pissed off. You know why? Have you ever taken a cold shower? Well multiple that by 15-million times, that's how pissed off Hill's gonna be.
