We need run and midfield grunt for next week.

IN: Wellingham, Butler, Sheed (Hutchings)
OUT: Sinclair, LeCras (inj), Schofield (Colledge)

Bracketed is something I don't think will happen. I think those three will come in and Colledge will play as sub. Hutchings struggled off the ball on Friday night from reports but we'll see what happens.

Butler is getting some midfield time under his belt in the WAFL and would free Ellis, Yeo and Sheppard up the ground some more, offers more than Schofield and restores the balance that worked in the first two rounds.

Wellingham will resume and play his utility role that he's been playing thus far.

Sheed hopefully comes in and get a full game, offers more in the middle than Colledge but more importantly has been hitting the scoreboard and generating Inside 50's.
Except I don't think Butler has grunt or the required speed as listed. But not sure.

the Shuey one really hurts us, so disappointed, anyway back to this weeks game- Hutching finally can make his stamp.
Hill in for Lecras, Sheed probably a good time to for a recall, and Wellingham either over Sinclair or Colledge.
Overall its not to bad as those four can make an impact, I have faith in them to do their job- the only problem is we are now in danger zone of depth- no more injuries or were in trouble.

Out: Lecras, Masten, Shuey , Sinclair?/Colledge

In: Hill, Hutchings, Sheed , Wellingham
I think the first 3 are locks and reasonably like for like. We will still get belted though. Geelong are very good and losing those 3 is going to make us uncompetitive. Hoping to get within 5 goals.

Possibly: Sinclair for Butler/Hutchings?

We definitely shouldn't take any injured players on the plane to Geelong. Long season. Rest them for Port.

Oh Well...Oh Well...Damn..be positive...apart from the fact we havent won there for several years, neither have many other teams, in fact the Cats have only lost 4 games there since 2007? (this is the real house of pain in the comp)

be positive even though our injuries are suddenly looking like last year - so many so soon.
be positive even though the 'ins' dont instil much confidence, Wellingham aside, and arguably Hill..has Hutchings been tearing it up? has Sheed improved since his last outing?

to expect a win there might be unlikely, but if we do win, then we've passed our first reality test, and possibly turned a corner...if we lose, then lets hope its with positives to take forward and improve on i.e- we didnt cave-in, we took it up to them, and lost by a respectable amount (if theres such a thing)

out= Shuey, Masten, Lecras, Sinclair
in = Wellingham, Hill, Hutchings, Sheed.
(would like to see Tunbridge in, hows his nosejob?)

Seems like we got some bad outs, but our ins aren't that bad.

By the looks of it;

OUT: Masten, Lecras, Shuey, and possibly Selwood
IN: Hill, Wellingham, Sheed or Hutchings if he's fit

I don't think Schofield did enough to deserve his spot but we don't really have a suitable replacement. Wilson or Carter maybe, not sure about how their form is. Also unfortunate to lose key mids at such a pivotal time. Surely we won't go with three rucks, we're already short on run for this game.

Geezus!! Masten, Shuey, Lecras, Hurn!! Could we have any more important players injured?

2 years in a row we are being cruelled by injury. Half expecting Darling and Kennedy to do their knees, Naitanui to get op, and Cox retiring early. Touch wood they don't, that just seems to be the luck we are having! These so called footy gods are taking a giant dump on our club at the moment.

We lose any more key mids or rebound backmen we are cooked.

We were shit last year (too early to tell this year), time for everyone to stop blaming injuries.

We were shit because we did not have a stable team that could play more than 2 games as a unit. Teams get really good once they play a lot of games together without disruption.

Blaming injuries? Hurn, Lecras, Masten, Shuey,Naitanui, are arguably in the top 10 best players in our team . Take the top 5 or 6 players out of any team and see how good they go. Hutchings, Hill, Butler, Sheed are no where near like for like replacements for the above mentioned players. I believe the "we were shit because of injury" is a widely used excuse when teams are just plain crap, but surely there is a line where you can actually blame injury for poor performances.

So definite outs are lecras, masten and shuey

Hill the closest like for like replacement for lecras

Wellingham and sheed the most likely to come in for masten and shuey

I'd like to see another runner come in for Sinclair but doubt that it will happen

If we play with the right amount of intensity we can still give this a shake although I think geelongs class will ultimately show through. If we can push the cats the way the saints did us I'd be happy

It's not just 2 years in a row, it's 3 years in a row and 4 of the last 5 years :( . This has to stop- surely it must be a system issue! (we cleared out our coaching staff, if only we could reassess our medical staff or resources :()

The common thread is the players if anything.

Waters, Shuey, LeCras, Hurn, Naitanui.

Out: Lecras (arm), Masten (hamstring), Sinclair (omit), Shuey (susp)
In: Hill, Hutchings, Sheed, Wellingham

FB: Bennell, Emac, Glass
HB: Sheppard, Brown, Ellis
C: Rosa, Priddis, Gaff
HF: Hutchings, Kennedy, Hill
FF: Cripps, Naitanui, Darling
R: Cox, Scooter, Wellingham
Int: Yeo, Colledge, Sheed
Sub: Schofield

Some decent ins but just too much quality going out. Pretty silly by Shuey but the umps just put their whistle away after some initial early frees which I suspect may have led to his retaliation. Anyway I'm interested in seeing what Simmo does with Yeo, Colledge and Sheed. Hopefully we get to see these guys get decent stints in the midfield, ideally the centre where we can judge their ability in these positions for the future. Scooter will tag his brother and I suspect Hutchings may get a run-with-role with Johnson. We won't win but this game but these outs give us a good opportunity to test our midfield depth.

Replacing Shep with Wilson/Carter wouldn't be great but it wouldn't mean we'd be in "deep" trouble

I'd say Wilson is closer than Carter. Good form in the WAFL, smart, tough and not a bad kick. He certainly does not generate as much run as Shep but we could try giving Bennell that role and keep Wilson down back.
