Really ??? What game were you watching. We were at Norwood. Walker creates chaos with his run. Wilson is too slow and predictable. Agree that occasionally Walker gets caught and it looks ugly but nothing ventured nothing gained. Walker is a must in this side if you wish to have fast ball movement. Go back and watch the replay of his delivery and how it opens up the game/scoring.
If it was up to me Wilson would never play again

If Wilson plays then Ryan should be dropped. We seem to love to double up.
You can’t play all of Clark, Young, Chapman, Walker, etc, off HB.
You’d think it would create more fast flowing footy, instead they are all waiting and Young has been told to eliminate the risky kick.
Maturity, games played will fix that up anyway. We look best playing run and stun.
Instead the coaches want us to rein it in?

A total of 2 tackles inside 50 is damning for our small forwards but I don't think we'll make too many unforced changes this week.

Brodie and JOM to swap places, and Raz in for Switta.

We need to back in that same team again.

Wagner deserves a few games to settle. Took a few good marks in the corridor and had a go. Better in the 2nd half.

Sturt wasn’t great, but give him another shot ffs.

Switta out.

Brodie in.

Thought besides his goal..Banners was a little lazy in his marks and kicks. Gets demoted to Sub which he’s good at.

I would look at either Erasmus or Corbett. If we want to get a little more speed into our fwd half i would go with Erasmus or a little more threatening in the air Corbett.

Imo we need to have faith in the team and it was a good fight back. Let them play Friday night lights.
Far from lazy. Lol the mark he dropped in the last qrter where those crucifying for was not necessarily a gimme. The guy was right on this hammer.

One thing with Banners is he actually quite good in congestion, flicks out quick handball. Too much time to think is not as good. The accuracy he has with those on the run snaps no-one gives credit for, but sure not all players could hit that with consistency

He doesn’t tackle. How many tackles should a forward have for a game? Darcy rucks and then immediately follows up with tackles, his 4 last night were as many as Schultz, Banfield, Walters , Amiss and Freddy combined.

Some of our best footy was due to the pressure applied from Mayne, Walters and Balla.
Mayne was a machine, Erasmus, Emmett appear to have that Mayne-iac quality.
Not sure about Corbett? But Banfield should be the super sub.
Having more players that can help scoring makes sense doesn’t it?

He had, I think, 6 possessions and zero goals. If you're happy with that then I think I know who the dunce is. Try watching the game without your rose coloured glasses on.
Did you not see him deliver that kick i50 to Amiss?

Did you not see him consistently running into the right spots, presenting, creating space in the FWD line for Amiss, running down the wing ect? Did you not see him actually lead at the ball carrier in that last play?

If you didn't maybe watch the game again. It's his first AFL game in 2 years due to multiple injuries and getting his body right and you're saying he doesn't have it, just moronic and lacking a basic understanding of what football IQ looks like.

It's interesting, inside 50 tackling has been a relative strength this season often because it's been our only avenue to goal. I think though in this instance the lower tackle numbers may at least partially reflect how much better we were at creating scoring opportunities directly from marks inside 50 in the second half.

Agree that it's something to keep an eye on especially with Switta out but I'm ok with that number staying low(er) if we have forwards taking lots of set shots rather than trying to almost exclusively score from stoppages and turnovers. Obviously we'll come up against teams who defend better but it was encouraging to see actual space in our forward line yesterday.

I watched the extended highlights package again this morning whilst on the treadmill and the kick into the F50 was one of the most beautiful highlights of the night.

Longmuir mentioned in the press conference that they changed the team balance by playing one less wingman than they have been, but went on to say they (Gold Coast) still found space even on the narrow ground. This makes me think they will consider bringing back Henry or O'Driscoll into the 23 for the next game, at minimum as the sub.

For those wondering, sturts going to get a good crack at it.

That’s very encouraging to hear! Especially if he’s been told that himself. Takes a fair bit of the pressure off so he can just get out and play rather than be thinking that any mistake might cost him his spot.
I’m loving the speed we’ve got in the forward half at the moment, even more so when Switta is back

I totally agree. He reminds me of Bailey Fritz. Just needs to produce. Looks like a natural forward.

My only problem with giving players time to "settle" is our season is essentially on the line every week atm, especially in an 8 point game against the dogs.

Brodie obviously has to come in for a full game.

I would like Corbett to come in, I think a forward line of Amiss, Corbett and Jackson has a nice balance to it. This would potentially drop Sturt.

Give Sturt the vest.

Honestly as much as it sucks for him, if I was the coach I'm bringing in Wilson for Wagner this week. Can't afford those turn overs against the bullies. Wagner had an injury interrupted pre season, let him build more confidence up playing for peel, I'm sure he will get another chance.

I wonder what the go is with Fyfe...

Yeah, nah........

You don't want to give Sturt time to settle in an 8 point game but you want to bring in someone who has barely played for Peel and hasn't played and AFL game for us?

Give me some of what you're smoking

That's BigFooty. Performance of a player is completely subjective depending on whether Player A is your favourite or your scapegoat. Makes a lot of people look really ridiculous.

Have a look at the circumstances when he was kicking, most of his kicks were from a quick handball out of congestion and kicking while about to be tackled.
I will watch a replay again no doubt but it didn't seem that way to me. Might be wrong though. Sometimes if you hold onto the ball too long you can put yourself under tackling pressure. Overall, I thought he was pretty good. One of his handballs to someone running past was very slick but those kicking turnovers make his position in the side vulnerable. Imagine Corbett and Treacy would like the same extended run.

What was unforgivable was his obvious hearing of footsteps thus not positioning his body to protect the ball drop. Hardly an arm chop - or a free kick.

He then got baulked by a 6 and a half footer 🙀
Chol’s arm was literally still wrapped around Banfields even after they separated. Should’ve been a free, Banfield should’ve been stronger, and wouldn’t have fallen for the candy. But the arm chop was still there
