Sensible chuckle at the chutzpah of thundercloud liking a post which writes off a young ruck who is yet to even debut at the level.
Keep in mind that Thunderpants's benchmark for an AFL ruckman is Fabian Deluca

Not really blind of the next 6 games, I can't see a team that we can't beat. If we pick up 4 wins from those 6 games, we are back in the mix with some injured stars to return. Way too early to write the team off. My only real concern is that the lack of finals success has eroded the team's confidence. But a few wins should restore that. As a lifelong Port supporter I have no illusions about how badly we can play, but I have so many memories of come from behind wins, that has been our trademark.
And if we had a coach that hadn't lost the players, then I'd agree with you. But it seems obvious that they need to hear a new voice - not the same worn out message they've been hearing for the last decade.

Surely Hayes plays this week. Thought Strachan had his measure, but he did well against ROB and the SANFL rucks I've seen him play against. Tracking along nicely. Pittonet is ok, but let's be honest he's no worldbeater. It's not like you'd be throwing him against Gawn or something.

Pittonet not being a world beater is enough of a reason for ken to think he can get away with Marshall/Finlayson as ruck

Really the only one of any interest is whether Hayes gets a go. Though it's now reached the point where Ken would take him being picked as showing him as wrong, so he'll set him up to fail with when/where played during the game, to justify not picking him ('Sam needs to work harderer for longerer') again. So even though it's the most obvious pick to make, I'm not expecting Hayes to get a go. I wouldn't care, except Hayes may be pissed off enough with the club to want a trade out, even if we do get a new coach next year.

GO THE BLUES im hoping for my ten goal demolition this week regardless of any change, it is over for me these buffoons at the top have lost me completely i have no respect for their football credentials at all and they are destroying this club while spinning a deceptive narrative which the supporters hopefully are waking up to.
A significant loss wont paper over any spin that they put on it. GO THE BLUES!

Hayes, Pasini, Finlayson, Dumont, Fredrick,

Hayes isn’t ready to come into the senior team yet. 5 years isn’t enough time to develop, in fact he needs another 5 years before I’d consider giving him the medical sub vest.

The master Ken approach simply can’t afford for a player like Hayes to play in it because he doesn’t fit the method of the football DNA we are trying to play, heck we made a prelim with it so trust the pRoCesS and sCienCe guys behind it. None of you have the fOoTbaLling inteLlect to make critical decisions under pressure like Ken has and not playing Hayes is another master stroke highlighting the competence and trust I have in Ken to earn another 8 year contract, with a 9% pay rise per annum in line with inflation figures so that he can maintain his lifestyle of Coke Zero.

Solid first contribution. Greetings. The Sack Hinkley thread awaits you.

I don’t believe in sacking Hinkley. I like rewarding mediocrity. The same as I believe rewarding players who avoid contact and go invisible for 9 3/4 out of 10 games, cough Marshall and Motlop. Mediocrity is the way to life

Oh please join me in the Todd Marshall thread.

PORT Adelaide Brownlow medallist Ollie Wines won't play in Sunday's MCG clash with Carlton but says he feels "100 per cent fine" after a health scare last Thursday during the game against Melbourne.

Port is expected to be boosted by the return of veteran star Robbie Gray for the Blues clash, but the club is bracing for the news that ruckman Scott Lycett may be sidelined for some weeks after injuring his shoulder.

I can see it now , Marshall and Finalyson to ruck in tandem, Hayes still wont get a gig. Atomic meltdowns.
