Oh well Laird is playing
Given all the other suspensions .....I'm not sure how you rationalise Laird being freed

But as an owner .....I'm overjoyed

It’s quite incredible to think how far Berry and Schoenberg have fallen in 12 months - geez even the AFL had articles raving about the up and coming Berry the tackling machine….

perhaps it shows our progress -but personally I rated both of them.
They are 3rd and 4th year players, it’s not like their careers are over. It has taken someone like Chayce Jones to their 5th season to become a consistent AFL player, not all players are like a Daicos in their development. Both have shown they have AFL attributes, that talent hasn’t disappeared.

Did you not read the verdict? He showed a "split-second of care"!

ok then giphy.gif

IF that is the case .....why was that noted B4 charges were laid ? ......Or do we presume guilt now, until you prove to us you're innocent

Seems the AFL's attention to detail B4 the event, is too cavalier

Yep, perfect time for a rest, his form has been diminishing weekly. That last qtr saved a horrible game to that point

I haven’t watched the replay and was at the game but he only played 60% game time. It felt like he was everywhere in the last so I assume he played most of the last quarter which means he probably played just over 50% for the first 3 quarters

Any thoughts that maybe they are managing him to impact later in games once the speed has gone out and the younger boys have perhaps started to tire?

It’s 100% what they are doing, even one of the talk back radios asked the same question to one of the players just a few days ago. Pretty much confirmed it from memory.

They’re definitely doing that and it’s quite smart

Most games he’s our lowest TOG

And most games his centre square minutes are second half >>> first half

Makes sense given Rachele etc don’t have full tank

Out
McHenry/Sholl Sloane sub

In
Smith Hinge.

Sub:
In: Sloane.
Out: Parnell

If we don't want to go as tall down back we could play Hinge on the wing and drop Sholl. If not it's McHenry out.
Sloane a good player to bring on in the last quarter if the game is up for grabs.
Nicks wouldn't ever make Sloane sub though imo.
Team:
Jones Butts Worrell
Smith Muzz Max
Soligo Laird Hinge
Rachele Walker Keays
Rankine Fog Thilthorpe

ROB Dawson Pedlar

Sholl/McHenry Murphy Milera Doedee

Sub: Sloane

What on earth happened to Berry? He averaged 10 tackles a game last year. This was meant to be his year to increase his disposal output and become that main mid.

Schoenberg had a great second year and played every game. Two years later and he's so fringe and not worth mentioning.

If it was the Clam you were reading then yes probably excessive. In general everyone wrote him off because he was so average in his 4th year with no stand out features other than effort.

This year's he's just doing everything a bit better consistently. You could probably call him good enough to be playing AFL now just like Jones. Not sure how many games they'll both end up with though.
Fxxk me some of you get so easily triggered over my comments..

I’m actually one of the last people in here that writes off our youth..

i save my scorn for the players that actually deserve it.. the older, more experienced players when they fail miserably, underperform or make poor decisions and kick and handball with all the skills of an ammo’s spud..

they are the blokes we all should berate when the team fails.. not the lads who barely have 50 games under their belts.. or even less.

i can accept shit performances from under 50 gamers.. its just what happens with inexperienced kids. They often have big ups and even bigger downs.
