No way known Witts comes back in this week, Grundy plays so much better as the sole ruck. White may come in to play the 3rd tall/ruck for Moore who has not done enough the last 2 weeks. Moore is going to take time but he needs to impact a little more than what he is currently

Exactly. In terms of the need for development
umm, you're right, White is unlikely to develop any more but this has nothing to do with him being "overtaken" by Darcy right now.

Nice shift of goalposts but :)

I would not Call Witts a lot better the Grundy as a Tap Ruckman.

I see nearly every single ruckman do that

Maggie5 we know you think Witts will be the best Ruckman in the League

And Grundy is Average at best
Give it a rest Dave. You crap on about how good Grundy is way more than Maggie does with Witts, and frankly, there's not a huge amount between them.

Toovey is a better one-on-one defender at this stage than Marsh/Scharenberg but he lets the whole team down with his disposal. Id prefer to let one of the two younger guys make mistakes in the last 4 games of the season than Toovey. And same goes with White. He is not up to it.......bursts of good footy doesnt hold up - we need to cut our losses and let Moore learn at the AFL level

That's a fair enough opinion even though I don't necessarily agree with it.
But "overtaken" was a wrong term to use.

If Cloke and Adams don't get up.

In: White Kennedy De Goey
Out: Crisp, Adams, Toovey

B Maynard | Frost | Williams
HB Langdon | Brown | Sinclair
C Varcoe| Greenwood | Sidebottom
Foll Grundy | Swan | Pendlebury
HF Fasolo | White| Elliott
F Moore| Reid | Blair

Int Kennedy| Marsh | Scharenberg | Sub: De Goey

White to play against his old side and play 2nd ruck.
Kennedy gets a full game rotating in the midfield
De Goey will still be tired so can come in as the sub.

How has Moore 'ovetaken' White?. He kicked 5 goals in one game and has done jack all in the others?, just saying.

Apologies to the mods for this potential thread derailment....

Presti's loyalty was commendable and a demonstration of the quality of the man, but far too much was made of it by the club. At Hawthorn it would have been kept in house, just another in a long line of team first sacrifices that their great success is built on. At Collingwood we hoist him into the stands to unfurl the flag and dedicate his number to the first picked player every year, even though that number belongs to one of our greatest champion. Too many of our players are lauded beyond what is accurate and it is one of the reasons why we win flags every 20 years.

I totally disagree. I think you're making a lot of your opinion , minimizing an incredibly selfless act.
Who gives a single flying heck what they might have done at Hawthorn?
Seriously!!!
Stupidest reasoning ever. Go barrack for them if you're so smitten.

Little harsh Maggie5 .. clearances are more a product of midfield effort as it is a ruckmans hitouts. Also had a game high 9 tackles which is incredibly rare for a big guy
Agree, but I was in a bad mood and didn't appreciate the post that I was responding too.

For mine, it is not enough just to be a good tap ruckman but also to make your presence felt around the ground and impact the contest. On more than one occasion, Grundy lost contact with Kruezer, which was costly. Although both our young ruckman are in their early stages of their careers, I have no problem with someone pointing out Witt's deficiency but it seems to some on this board Grundy is untouchable.

We have a Record of 7-3 With Grundy as our Sole Ruckman

Grundy had 9 Tackles and 7 1%ers. That is Pretty Impressive for a Ruckman
- we need to cut our losses and let Moore learn at the AFL level
It is a myth that players need to be in the AFL to develop, or develop faster. Moore has plenty of development to do, including ruck work which could and probably should be done in the VFL. 15-20 touches in the VFL is probably better for development than 6-10 in the AFL.

That's exactly what I'm referring to, Grundy plays as the only ruck.
But we do need a backup ruck/forward, and I'm not sure we can go with Moore in that role just yet as we will burn him out.

Well I agree White is the better Choice as the Ruck/Forward.
