How did we line up against swans last year when we beat them?
Likely ins/outs:
Fremantle:
Out: Pearce, Cox, Schultz, Walters, O'Driscoll, Erasmus, Hughes
In: Chapman, Davies/Draper, Sturt, Wagner, Worner, Sharp

Sydney:
Out: Francis, Clarke, Franklin, Hickey, Mills, Gould, Sheather, Parker
In: McCartin, Melican, Amartey, Grundy, Adams, Jordon, Wicks, Rampe

What if we lump Darcy in the fwd line more and Jackson to roam around the ground to pick up Grundy?

Maintain the three tall fwd line

If Darcy can beat Grundy in the ruck contest leading to clearance dominance it won't matter what Grundy tries to do around the ground. We will force it into a heavy stoppage game.

True. Think midfield is where we win or lose it. Also need stop quick rebound into defense and the likes of Warner out the back

More confident actually playing them there then Optus..

I’d go for Hughes if Pearce is out.

There’s going to be a drop off defensively no matter what, but we can’t forget what Pearce offers on the offensive side of things. Hughes isn’t great, but at least he can find the ball. Our whole game is built on rebounding, and we’re going to have to score if we want to win. Just don’t think we can afford to have both Draper and Davies getting single figure possessions back there.

And if Walker is back, I think it’s possible we drop Wagner and stick with Worner as the sub just for that little bit of extra size and versatility. I like what Wagner brings personally, but it’s just a thought.

Based on watching Peel Hughes in for APearce is likely outcome I agree (if Pearce is out injured). Hughes 188-189cm, Luke Ryan 186-187cm and Heath Chapman 193cm will have to play taller along with 195cm Hugh Davies. I really can’t see us running with Draper and Davies as the KPD. Fingers crossed APearce gets up.

I like Wagner as well. What you say makes sense though. Having another medium tall to help in the backline is preferred. I think Wagner though is in better form than Aish. Aish was better on Sunday.

Hoping for a fully fit Freo this week and that Pearce gets up. You didn’t really get a fair crack at it last time for obvious reasons.

As for the match, anything apart from that horrendous 44 all draw will do. We both have a habit of bringing out the worst in each other game wise.

Would be happy if you made a charge to top 4, anything to put a dent into good ol Vic Bias.

Good luck and no injuries to either side please.

If AP is 100% out, then Hughes has to be in deep consideration.
Hughes would actually match up well on McDonald or Hayward, he has the strength, Speed and endurance to go with either, McDonald isn’t a great contested mark, so not to worried about the height difference. Hayward is having the better year, and other than Chapman, I can’t think of anyone who could go with him except Hughes.

So they had all their main tall defenders out injured. This time it is our turn.

Outside that, the obvious difference is Grundy. Darcy gave Hickey an absolute bath.

And Schultz received 3 Brownlow votes.

If old mate Logan can't kick a bag this week playing on a mixture of undersized and neophyte backs, he's worth a second rounder, maximum. What do you reckon Taylor?

Steak knives in the Warner trade for four 1st round picks

Clark likely to cop a hard tag again, hope we’ve got something planned to break it. Should free up Chappy to get off the chain

Forecast should be clear for Saturday.

Though its Sydney we can cop rain from nowhere really unexpected.

I have a bucks party this weekend in Newcastle. So wont be going unfortunately.

Last year was a great day at the SCG watching us get a rare victory at the ground we really put the swans in there place it should have been a 5-6 goal win apart from a few consolations in the last few mins.

Hopefully we bring the effort and intensity that re-stamps our credentials against the premiership favorites.
