I just listened to Bevo's press conference. I actually can't take anything he says seriously anymore.

He is deadset gaslighting the supporter base.
Ummm no
Bevo loves me and wants me

The selections don’t bother me as much as how the players actually out there are responding. Since 2022 started there’s been no real pressure applied, we leak goals and are excruciating to watch with ball in hand, just meandering around doing nothing until we turn it over.

To come out in round 1 after missing the finals and lay the fewest tackles in 6 years and have such an abysmal pressure rating says it all. Doesn’t matter who he picks, nobody is responding to whatever the message is. Our brand of footy is in the dirt.

It’s funny that he rattles off the insanity definition though, he’s cooked. At the very least he’s come to his senses on Darcy - absolutely no point him being in the vfl.

Given actual team selection is announced tonight the outs could very well be:

Harmes
Lobb
Mc Neil

That is 3 of the main players most here wanted with Darcy replacing Lobb, the only real controversy in selection is VDM still in (how I do not know) and Macrae being left out. Hardly a reason to write off the game. 1 change should not make 1 iota of difference to winning or losing. Providing that is if Lobb and Mc Neil are the 2 other outs.

Comments around Jack and CD were odd. So are they both underdone? Have young players overtaken them? Are we playing young players to try and evolve? F***ed if I can work the guy out.

But hey, it's all going along beautifully and I have complete confidence in the board, the admin and this team who will go undefeated from here on and go down as the best team in history.

Am I doing it right, coach?

I wonder about Dale too - he's on the extended bench. I barely noticed him playing last week

I’ve no issue with selection either. Certainly not why we lost last week.

The insanity comment from Bev - He’s clearly referencing wanting more pace in the side compared to the last few years. (McNeil and VDM in, Macrae out and Daniel sub). It hasn’t worked as of one game this season, but the decision has been made to try and change things up.

Surely supporters can’t be upset that the coaches are trying different things to get different results? Isn’t that what most have been demanding?

His comments certainly clashed. One moment he’s not ready, the next it’s about the teams evolution.

Plus Busslinger is also not ready apparently..

Yeah the Busslinger comment was a bit odd. So JOD had barely played the game and he gets a debut quickly in 2023.

Change it up by persisting with two players who have never shown they are up to AFL standard after far too many chances !!

So we go with the same lineups and hope they all get faster during the off season?

How else do we bring more pace in to the side? Who on our list walks in and helps with that?

Wouldn’t surprise if O’Driscoll gets a quick debut once he’s right to go.

Quick and aggressive. Exactly what we need/want.
Would be a natural fit in the role VDM played last week, forward with stints on the wing suits him perfectly. Hopefully he gets a clean bill of health soon. All pace isn't equal, he and Gallagher should and will replace VDM and Mcniel pretty quickly. We still need to get Clarke into the dedicated small forward role whilst telling Weightman that he doesnt need to attempt mark of the year every game.

Team selection all points to wanting these types in the side.

Not entirely convinced Clarke is ready, but wouldn’t be unhappy seeing him in over the next few weeks. Hopefully he goes well in the 2’s this weekend to really pressure the selectors.

We all knew we needed more speed on the ball but cramming it in for the sake of it (especially VDM forward) isn't the answer.
Mcniel looked fantastic as a small forward in preseason but come round 1 his on the wing.
Gallagher isn't ready for inside midfield just yet and has looked good on a wing, so we Sub off Sanders and push Gags to the inside to be bumped off the ball with ease.

We need to get games unti Darcy Gallagher Freyer O'driscoll Sanders Bedendo before Bont Liba CD Jones and Co get to old.
Its hard balancing the list but Sydney and Geelong seem to handle it well.

No, what supporters have been demanding is not persisting with players who have consistently underperformed.

Fine, change things up, but don't give us the fact things are being 'changed up' by going back to the well with players that failed over and over.

Putting injuries aside, I would take throwing in Clarke, O'Driscoll, Bedendo, Busslinger, Freijah, than the real 'definition of insanity' and persisting with the same sub-par players expecting a different result.
