Out: Barrass (unlucky), Hutchings (a bit less so)
In: McGovern, Butler

B: Butler, Schofield, Sheppard
HB: Hurn, McGovern, Wellingham
C: Gaff, Priddis, Masten
HF: LeCras, Darling, Selwood
F: Cripps, Kennedy, Sinclair
R: Naitanui, Shuey, Yeo
I: Ellis, Sheed, Hill
S: Rosa
E: Barrass, McGinnity, Hutchings (held over)

Selwood gets into the 21 at Hutchings' expense.

Hill gets a reprieve largely because Newman isn't setting the world on fire in the WAFL today. Also don't think we'll make wholesale changes.

If we weren't playing the Hawks I'd almost be tempted to bring lamb in.

Hasn't he played more senior games (and more recently) than Newman? Hawks bring in new players throughout the year, no reason we couldn't reward his 4 goal effort.

Is Lamb for Hill a potential straight swap. Obviously Hill is a smaller forward but for a "small forward" he is 6'2ish in the old scale. Can't knoick Lamb's form since coming back from injury.

Butler needs to play and I've got fingers, legs and everything else crossed for a McGovern return. At the expense of Hutchings/ Rosa and Barrass

Fast track steve hucka in for a debut as well :thumbsu:

In: Lamb(scored 4.1 today in WAFL), McGinnity(best on Ground in WAF), Butler, McGovern
Out: Whoever are not performing or sore or sick.
Don't you say those things. The only circumstance in which Mcginnity should ever play for us again is if his sole purpose is to deliver lethal corks/closelines to key opposition players in big games, attempt to injure as many of them as possible in the first quarter, and then be subbed off at quarter time to make way for someone who can actually play at AFL level. Essentially a human kamikaze, he might cop 10 weeks all up, but it'd be worth it. To be honest, i'd keep that up our sleeve for a cutthroat final.

Hill is skilful but look tired or injured in the last few match; and need to take a rest. Lamb is hungry, big body, good tackling; should be a good replacement.
McGinnity is quick and should be fit after injury. Though his kick is not as good, but certainly better than the current Hutching.

We need to reward well-performed and improving players. McGinnity is improving. I don't think he is worst than Hutching's performance this Saturday! McGinnity is a quicker player than Hutching; and better form too.

I would normally agree with that sentiment, but in this case i can not. Every time Mcginnity seems to be improving in the WAFL, he's brough into the AFL and dishes up the same crap every time. He can't play as a forward because he doesn't kick goals, he isn't skillful enough to be a defender in our team, and as a midfielder he will f*ck up our already disfunctional midfield with Selwood and Rosa, NOT the type of player we should be bringing in against the Hawks. Nelson is a much better replacement because he is a good user of the ball, makes better decisions and is only in his first year, so the more games we get into him, especially against top teams like the hawks, the better. Even if he did have a shit game, i'd prefer that to mcginnity having a shit game because we know he will actually improve as he's only 19, and he also won't f*ck our midfield structure like mcginnity would.

First let me agree with you that it was a team effort and we should not be blaming just 1 or 2 players. Collectively we were off the mark and played like many expected us to when we started the season. Hutch and Hill were symptomatic of the team. We are also thin in his skill set so he rightfully ahead of McSpud but that is about it. I believe we are selecting him based on Hobson's choice. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hobson's_choice

Hutch is an extremely frustrating person to watch (especially live) and I am with Monocle on this one. His game style is to jog around and gather possessions but fails to take the game on. What I saw last year and again in 2015 (it came home loud and clear in the Sydney and Gold Coast games and less when he is the sub) is that he is not AFL standard. He fails to attack the ball with any pace, he is a foundation member of the one step back before I know what to do set, he consistently fails to hit the scoreboard, his skills are WAFL level only and he is usually a part of something that breaks down and becomes a turnover.

in terms of goal kicking, he has a scored 9 goal 11 points for his career which is poor and in the 5 games this year (2 or 3 of which were as the sub) he has kicked 1 solitary point. I am wondering why you are so protective of him. St Kilda discarded him. We picked him up in a very thin draft at pick 60 which is more like pick 90 in a decent draft so he owes us nothing. I am very clear - games into Hutch are a wasted effort. I would prefer to try out Lucas, Adamson or Brophy. They may not be ready but there is a chance they will be one day. I usually say we are Hutching at straws when we pick Mark.

I just think he's lacking confidence, as ive seen him play well when uninjured and after having a good run of games. Like ive always said, I don't think he's the best player we have, but he is a good role player, and he constantly gets picked on for stuff that other players do, and when he does something really great, he receives no praise at all. I only stick up for him because I don't think he's as bad as people make out and I get sick of people bagging him so much.

A bit miffed that Hutch gave everyone who stuck up for him during the week a big ole turkey slap. Bit part players should be going 110% if they get a couple of full games.
How bad was he? I didn't watch the game. Not sure if I want to watch the replay. Was he bad or just miss a crucial goal?

I have been faithfully held my view less is best all season

I still think minimal a changes is best

Out Barras, hill

In McGovern butler

Start Selwood ...

Surely Lamb is the better option than Hill? Who gives a shit if "he has no experience", anything is a better option than him.

Out: Hill, Rosa, Barrass

In: Lamb, Mcgovern, Bennell? (How did he play)

Newman to play in 2nds - 10 tocuhes aint good enough.
