Meanwhile in a parallel universe where Worsfold still coaches the side and the exact same results have happened, the headline reads:

"Worsfold still believes midfield can make a deep run in September"

:p

.. and will be a premiership contender in 2014-2016

If worsfold were still in charge he'd be telling us we're going to do damage in september

Laying down the law?

He's been one of our most consistently good performers all year. **** knows what he did wrong.

I don't wanna derail this thread, but seriously, this is Cox thread v2. We're keeping the old boys on deck and jerking around the young guys. Yep, cue is well and truly on the rack, I honest to God hope Sheed gets some AFL game time. Bennell, dare I say it would of been mighty useful last weekend

If Sinclair is getting a gig i would do the following changes:

Out: Cox ( Rest doubt they want to fly him over) , Rosa ( Inj) , Jk (Sus), Brennan, Butler
In: Nic Nat, Sheed,Sinclair, Bennell, Tunbridge

Bennell Emac Ellis
Shep Schofield Hurn

Wellingham Priddis Gaff

Masten Mcgovern Darling
Cripps Sinclair Lecra

Ruck: Nic Nat, Shuey, Hutchings

Bench: Lycett, Sheed, Mcginnity Sub: Tunbridge

Went with a small defense to combat their small forwards & If we are struggling height wise send Mcgovern down back.

Yes we have 3 rucks but Sinclair is a a better forward than Nic Nat, Lycett and Cox so he is a good replacement to JK.

Out: Rosa (inj), Kennedy (susp), Butler, Cripps, Brennan
In: Sheed, McInnes, Bennell, WilsonCarter, Tunbridge

B: Bennell, MacKenzie, Ellis
HB: Hurn, Schofield, Sheppard
C: Gaff, Priddis, Masten
HF: LeCras, McInnes, Darling
F: Cox, McGovern, McGinnity
R: Lycett, Shuey, Wellingham
I: Hutchings, Sheed, Carter
S: Tunbridge
E: Sinclair, Cripps, Butler

Changed Wilson to Carter, bring him (and Bennell) in to help combat Brisbane's mosquito fleet.

Maybe Cripps or Brennan gets a reprieve and plays as the sub instead of Tunbridge.

McInnes to debut please, Kennedy out and weak opposition means we're unlikely to get a better opportunity to throw him in and see what he can do at this level.

I wonder if they'll bother with McInnes at all. Not sure he warrants it. Is he out of contract? 2015 would have to be the make or break year for him best case scenario.

Nothing's ever been released about his contract. May have signed a three-year deal when drafted, in which case it'd be up this year. Or he may have signed a two-year deal and re-signed last year without anything being announced.

Kennedy is out therefore bring in a tall replacement. This has nothing to do with rucks?

The post above mine suggested WCE was going to bring in Sinclair as a forward...

Considering NN is returning for this game, it does "have something to do with rucks" because if that is the case we now have 4 ruckman playing.

We have tried Lycett/Nicnat/Cox, we have tried Cox/Nicnat/Sinclair, if we must play three rucks (or 2 rucks and 1 as a fwd) this week, I want to see Lycett/Nicnat/Sinclair - a combo that hasn't played together before (AFAIK).

In 2011/2012 our fwd and ruck setup worked beautifully with Cox/Nicnat rucking and Lynch playing as a tall lead up fwd who could also provide a pinch hit if required. Let's see if we can achieve something similar with Lycett instead of Cox and Sinclair instead of Lynch.

I thought about Bennell during the game, I didn't think he would have been of any value. Match up on Goods or similar?

Think you're right, pretty sure Lycett and Sinclair haven't ever played at the same time.

I think McGovern should be playing that Lynch role going forward. Though for this week with JK out I'd prefer to see Gov in the square and McInnes playing as the lead-up forward.

(PS I think this is about my fourth post calling for McInnes to debut this week. Plus the podcast. You reckon I'm keen?)
