Poor GWS and GCS recruiting team where every player is considered a flight risk... even the home grown ones apparently. We are undecided on Wardlaw/Tsatas at 3. I think the thought is we rate Cadman outside of the top 4. GWS deem all of Sheezel, Tsatas and Wardlaw as flight risks, they wanted 1 so they could ensure Cadman wasn’t taken, as he has passed the vetting process and is a Vic Country kid.
The 2023 has be more excitedAFL draft 28 Nov. So far away. Why so long
I never suggested landing one generational player results in premiership success.
Do you think hawthorn would be trading omeara and Mitchell if it were trying to win as many games as possible this year?
So all the bed wetter’s get an extra month at home with Mum and DadAFL draft 28 Nov. So far away. Why so long
Yeah he's going to be a beast I hope we snag him. There something about Ginbey that reminds me of Clayton Oliver

It's his body. He seems deceptively flabby. That's the reason why I'm really into him now
Doesn’t need to be this extreme, I’m not suggesting someone like Melbourne is going to tank their whole season to finish bottom in the chase of Reid.Agreed that it’s always in play for some teams, but it’s a pretty suspect approach. Set your whole program in reverse for a year to pick up a generational kid, who just goes and gets glandular fever or breaks his leg and you’re too far gone to save your competitive season.
Not for me, not this far out. Mess around with your lineups in the final month of the season, go for your life, but not ahead of the season.
Might just grab a stop-gap out of the WAFL as a rookie, I guess it depends on the quality of rucks at our last pick (and whether we want 4 ruckmen on our list, 10% of our list for 1 position seems high).Does anyone see us taking a ruckman at either 20 or 26? I think we're in a bit of strife with Williams and Jamieson as the only recognised ruckmen on the list behind Nic. The 3 names that I see being mentioned are Barnett, Broadbent and Keeler. Anyone think we will grab one of these 3?
I think that's a very solid effort and reckon you nailed the top 10 or even top 14, after that it is a little harder to predict.I'll have a crack at a phantom to our third pick. Although I've got NFI after our second (or before that most likely). Unfortunately I now think we just miss out on one of those top shelf mids (don't think Ginbey has the production to be classed with them). I'd happily have either Humphrey or Phillipou at our first but the latter doesn't seem to be rated as highly and the former is a fwd-mid. Hoping Hawks take Clark, and Suns-Cats take two of Hollands-Busslinger-Humphrey leaving McKenzie for us.
1. Cadman (GWS)
2. Ashcroft (Bris)
3. Wardlaw (NM)
4. Sheezel (NM)
5. Tsatsas (Ess)
6. McKenzie (Haw)
7. Busslinger (GCS)
8. Clark (Gee)
9. Ginbey (WCE)
10. Jefferson (Stk)
11. Humphrey (Car)
12. Phillipou (WB)
13. Hewett (WCE)
14. Hollands (Melb)
15. Hotton (Syd)
16. Hayes (GWS)
17. Hustwaite (Coll)
18. Konstansty (Syd)
19. George (GWS)
20. Burgeil (GWS)
21. C.Clarke (WCE)
Then at 27 I think we have a stab at one of Allen, D.Jones, J.Ryan, K.Smith, Barnett, Keeler, Szybowski
Keeler is more a KPF/Ruck, he's the type that would spend 75% in the forward line and pinch hit.Does anyone see us taking a ruckman at either 20 or 26? I think we're in a bit of strife with Williams and Jamieson as the only recognised ruckmen on the list behind Nic. The 3 names that I see being mentioned are Barnett, Broadbent and Keeler. For those glass half empty types…. If we finish last this is what you have to look forward to.
Hawks are definitely going down the path. I posted 2 days ago about Dermie’s comments in Trading day, I had to listen to it a number of times to make sure I wasn’t hearing things but he basically said Hawks are looking already to next years draft.Love how he stands in a tackle, like some peasant is hanging off him and he just takes his time unaffected to assess his options to give it off!
Going to be between us, Norf and now Hawks for him.

That’s a fair effort. You didn’t let us know what the blues throw in to jump up to grab McKenzie? Maybe that with 20 & 26 get the Dees pick.first time poster - forgive my ignorance and go easy on me.
Thought I'd have a crack at a mocky that included West Coast doing some live trading
- sliding back to 11 with Carlton
- trading back in at 14 as O'brien rates evenness of top 15 prospects.
1 Ashcroft – Bris* (match bid)
2 Cadman – GWS (traded up for him)
3 Wardlaw – Nth (JHF replacement)
4 Busslinger – Nth (may be pushing it but I rate the kid and by far the best def in draft (if not here I think he'll go in top 10 somewhere). Nth lack quality talls down back not mids + good pairing with McKay)
5 Sheezel – Ess (most electric player as always for the Dons)
6 Hollands – GC (Saw someone post this earlier and makes sense - younger brother of current player with top 10 talent, retention continues to be an issue at GC)
7 Tsatas – Haw (best outside mid, to match young inside bulls presently at the club)
8 Clark – Gee (copy and paste Joel Selwood)
9 McKenzie – Carl (traded in from WCE for pick 11 + pick 30 - to jump ahead of StK)
10 Jefferson – StK (need talls and have been vocal about it, Jefferson best option)
11 Phillipou – WCE (traded in from Carl - Need exciting goal scoring mids Pou fits the bill)
12 Humphrey – WB (most uncertain point of draft, what do WBD need? KPD and KPF sorted with Darcy/Jones and Lobb - have them going with best available Vic player (also first name Bailey))
13 Ginbey – WCE (still need more young mids - can’t go wrong with Clayton Oliver 2.0)
14 Hewett – WCE (traded in from Melb for pick 20 + pick 26 - Hewett probably best available at this stage but do Melb really want to draft another WA boy after Jackson?? + Melb only have pick 14 and 37 in 2022 draft. WCE need to get back in before Sydney’s pick because you know they will draft Hewett and turn him into a superstar. 20 + 26 for 14 + 37 seems fair (if you can do pick 20+30 do it but I think that is less likely))
15 Fletcher – Bris* (match bid from Syd)
16 Hustwaite – Syd (big bodied midfielder to add to young core)
17 Hotton – GWS (best mid in draft at this point to replace hopper, tarranto, bruhn)
18 Hayes – Col (Have a solid team, Hayes provides back up to injury prone Moore and another tall option if needed down back)
19 Konstanty – Syd (feels like a Syd pick up, addresses needs fwd of center)
20 Weddle – GWS (need young talls down back)
21 Keeler – GWS (Cadman can’t do it on his own, need more talls and goals up top)
22 Cowan – Melb (addresses small def need)
23 Burgiel – WB (lost a couple of mids in trade period, Burgiel fits the Dunkley mould of a goal scoring mid)
24 Alwyn Davey Jr – Ess (Father son prospect falls to them at 24)
25 Michalanney – Ade (good key def that will develop nicely with the young team)
26 Gruzewski – Haw (a good swing man for the young list)
27 George – Col (exciting explosive fwd that Col can afford to wait on)
28 Szybkowski – Melb (more pacey mids never hurts, might go for another def option here but)
29 Barnett – Col (best ruckmen in draft and Col don’t have many)
30 Clarke – StK (still need more goal scoring threats, best Vic small at this point)
31 Jones – WCE (Need more small fwds with Rioli gone and Petch not confirmed starter yet)
32 Allan – Freo (Father son.. kind of, provides height in midfield which freo don’t have much of with Fyfe up top and Mundy+Acres gone)
33 Ryan – GWS (ageing backline – best mid-sized def at this point)
34 D’Aloia – Stk (need to add to inside midfielder depth after drafting 2 fwds)
35 Scully – Port (need more talls/ruck options with Dixon/Lycett supposedly cooked)
36 Broadbent or Gilbey – WCE (Pick drops to 36 after Brisbane slide out of draft with 36,37 and 38 all matching bids for Ashcroft and Fletcher)
37 Who cares..
For those glass half empty types…. If we finish last this is what you have to look forward to.
Look maybe the eagles would be bold enough to trade it out who knows but he will be worth more than just 5 & 12 if he continues to impress .Looks forward to us trading 1 for 5 & 12.
Fair effort if we were to walk away with the Poo, Ginbey, Hewett, Jones and Broadbent/Gilbey.first time poster - forgive my ignorance and go easy on me.

Don’t mind the poo Ginbey and Hewitt with Jones certainly gives us some midfield talent to work with.
