I doubt Sydney would go for that unless they are certain he is leaving next year and won’t be able to match.
Warner is not a free agent next year. We’ve an excellent trade relationship with Sydney but it would take a very good offer to prize him out a year early as opposed to Seans just running down the clock and getting a very good return for him next year anyway.

only way i see pick 3 for baker happening is something like

3 + F3 for 6, 21 and Baker.
id still prefer we dont touch 3 tho.

Add to that I expect that Warner is on a moderate salary for this year and next year. Makes it harder for a club with a tight salary cap to let a cheap player go!!

If we wants to go home and if he wins a flag this year…. Also make for that player maybe wanting to get paid earlier. Probably costs him $1m staying at the Swans next year, that’s a lot of money for anyone.

Just depends how much song and dance he wants to put up.

3, TB pick, 23 and 18 back for Warner I’d imagine would be the price Sydney would want

Wait a year in that instance when he is OOC and bank on us being able to offer a better financial offer to him and to Sydney a better pick package.

If, and there are a lot of uncertainties of course) we could get a pick around 30-35 this year for TB (or a F1) along with the 2024 1st, then that is an excellent deal for us.

Essentially 3 & 23. And a downgrade from 13-18 in an even part of the draft.

Sydney I doubt would go for it (don’t think they will take a heap of picks this draft, without actually checking their list profile).

Warner needs to be a next year problem for us. Get some lower cost role players, take a couple of high end picks (ideally keeping 3, and adding 13 or 14) plus bank something in the 2025 draft to use for Warner if he does choose to move.

We can afford to be patient and just hit the draft, especially with TB looking to leave and that adding to our draft hand.

Thats more than we got for Judd. Even if times have changed, Warner isa bright shining star but he is no Judd. He would look good in blue and gold though.
Hard to value what JK value was at that stage but I don’t think he lost much as he played in 22 games in 2 seasons (11 goals).

Judd trade was
Pick 3, 4 (JK) and 20
For
Judd and pick 46

Finn just can't quite get it going this year and remains a shadow of the player we saw tearing up the Talent League at times last season. We get glimpses of his immense talent, but he flits in and out of games, threatening to take over but never quite managing to do it. Fortunately for him and for us his Chargers team has improved dramatically in the back half of the year got up here in a tight game to progress to the next round of the finals so he'll get another chance to show what he can do.

The only thing extra future draft pick trading will create is inflation. More picks given up for same player. And of course we are the good guys, so we will pony up. Mind you, Sydney don’t have a backbone either so they may accept pittance.

It’s a club killer though, two futures. Sydney will free up $1.5m in cap, so when discussing draft picks, can’t just consider player worth without the considerations for cap space.

Hawks may have lost buddy, but they managed to keep their team together and add Brian lake and of course, the superstar Spangher. McEvoy following year. Lake doesn’t come to hawks if buddy stays.

what is the tldr version of what will happen with bailey smith? he wants geelong? what is likely going to get it done? (i have enough trouble keeping up with this thread without going on other threads)

Most likely the Cats, Geelongs' 1st rounder (likely 17 - 21) won't cut it by itself
