Contract status of all players now fully updated

This preseason will be massive for him. To see how he goes against the other guys. The main thing that worries me about him is his speed. Guys like Cripps get away with not being particularly quick though so who knows
Matt Priddis won a Brownlow. I think Culley will be fine. He seems to make good decisions in traffic, has very good offensive awareness, a solid kick, isn't afraid to tackle players and his draft package suggested he was also a good mark. If he can add size and strength and stay uninjured, not being the fastest bloke in the world isn't going to matter a great deal.

Rioli at his best - yes.

Graham is in contract and a great leader

Junior comes with a checkered past, is out of contract plus closer to 30

That said, there are loads of Grahams but few Riolis
Pretty good summation.

We can say what we like and try and be bullish about Rioli, but I can't see any world in which Junior Rioli is going to get the same (and certainly not more) compensation than Jack Graham.

West Coast could hand an AFL lifeline to lively midfielder Quinton Narkle after he was delisted by Geelong this week.
It’s understood the Eagles have made preliminary inquiries about the former Cat as he attempts to find a new home as a delisted free agent.
It’s understood Narkle is open-minded about his next move and willing to play for any club that offers him another life.

Hough is the one i scratch my head about, with the carry on on here.

Yes, I get that he's raw and I love his athleticism and desperation, it's very exciting, but..... do people just not see his disposals or...?

Talked about like he's Judd, yet constantly cooks us with dinky loopy kicks, direct turnovers or lollipop handballs. Need to tighten up on that quick smart or he'll get pegged as Rosa MK II, then pigeon holed as a lockdown defender on smalls. That'll probably happen anyway I reckon. Bailey Dale is who he should be modelling his game on.

Right… off to the team store for a headband.

Castor refused to make them, so Trev gave them the flick.

The New Balance headbands look the part.

I think the excitement with Hough is based on whether or not he can fill out the frame because there are times he does remind me of a young Yeo

His kicking action is horrible and hopefully that gets fixed fairly quickly though

If we’re talking Culley, one of the other things that makes me optimistic is the fact that the club will put him in best position to succeed. Pretty willingly turned the centre bounces over to him after he debuted and I think he’ll basically be a lock to play serious midfield minutes when available.

I’ve liked what I’ve seen so far if it is his floor, and I think they clearly like him enough to give him a real chance at becoming something good. Will take time but I get why people have latched on to this kid.

Might be more to his liking.

Rate Hough’s kicking and desire to be on the ball. He’s a child who shouldn’t have been playing, realistically, but he wanted it and was happy to take attacking options.

For me his problem last year was his tank, which is entirely understandable, but his early game output was a lot more polished to me than your description there. Consistently ran out of burst in his legs to me, often as early as half time.

I reckon if you made a highlights tape of Hough’s first quarters and his last quarters, you’d see two entirely different players with two entirely different levels of effectiveness disposing the footy.

i love hunts pace but his age 27 only 2 good more years if we are lucky
If it helps inspire a more attacking style and he's replaced in two years time by kids with a couple of preseasons under their belts I'll call that a win

He isn't signing with us for peanuts!! 3 years at reasonable coin for a C grader is mind boggling.

It's no good being quick when you can't kick. I guess its probably a good thing he averages 10 touches and 1 tackle a game.

Must be an A grader or else Nissy wouldn't let us get him.

So we kick off the trade period by signing yet another halfback

Never change West Coast, never change 😂😂

We've delisted two so far in Nelson and Naish 🤷‍♂️

Witherden also on the chopping block

Good call. It seemed like almost every week Hough would be leading us for touches at quarter time with 6-8, but by the end of the game would only reach 14 or so.

Yep - didn’t see it myself either. I saw very little to get excited about from anyone to he fair - except the game where Aaron Black played, but he’s 29

Culley is an ideal Redden replacement. Tackles like a madman, tough in the clinches, big enough to make oppo mids work for it.

Probs going to have issues spreading offensively or finding uncontested ball (Just like Red Bull Rowell), but like Thorne said, there's plenty to work with.

Worst case, turn him into a run with player.

Just have to be cautious we don't bring in too many more draftees like just like him. Need some outside run, pace, X factor.

Hold on.

"we dont bring in too many more draftees like just like him."?:oops:

Are you calling it?

We have finally found.........
