If we do keep pick 2 I think Cadman should be our pick if he’s available, I keep watching tape on him and he really does look like a Jeremy Cameron regen, could be the perfect CHF to pair with Oscar
could be a Curnow/McKay type partnership

Eagles lose: pick 2, Rioli, future third
Eagles gain: pick 8, future first (Port), future second (North)

Port lose: pick 8, future first, Bergman
Port gain: JHF, Rioli

North lose: JHF, future 2nd
North gain: pick 2, Bergman, future third (WCE)

Who says no?
In my humble opinion, this is probably the fairest/best trade I've seen thus far.

I know we all go around circles here with these discussions.

But I can’t help but wonder if we have all written Warlaw off too early.

If he gets to pick 3 and the club has had a good interview with him and he’s tested well at the combine we would be mad to not take the risk on him.

The kid is the best player in the draft when he’s on the park. Better than Ashcroft.

Has a little bit of Judd about this story I know Judd was shoulders and Warlaw Hammies but still.

Imagine trading pick 2 out and he goes on to be the A grader from this draft.
* Only going off all videos I can find, so not really an informed opinion I suppose but he looks, CLEARLY, the best player from this draft for mine.
If he stays fit, I think he'll be right up there with the best from the last 5 years. I really like him.

I’m for splitting our No2.if we can get pick6-9 we can take Hewitt.I’ve only seen a iTunes clip but left, right, swerve, goals plus playing league and being local spells WCE to me.I wouldn’t be that surprised if we took him at two.Certainly delivers the ball better than Wardlaw. If we can get him with a higher draft No and get someone’s future first we can go into next year’s draft with two picks probably under 14. I don’t think Port are going to set the world on fire. As oft stated they have a shit spine and very dubious defence.
We get this years target and a low future.WinWin

Gotta love Gold Coast -

Pick 7 and Bowes to Geelong- just give us your future 2nd and we’ll call it even

Sharpe to Fremantle- your future 2nd isn’t good enough give us that one you got from North

FFS

Yeah that’s a head scratcher. The guy barely played…maybe they want to save face after the Weller/Brodie fiascos

I get the haggling over Sharpe, that’s what any competent organisation should be doing even if they end up accepting your 2nd

The absolute rollover with Bowes is ****ed in the head. Even for Geelongs future 1st that’s a sweet deal but taking a future pick in the mid 30’s is ridiculous

WCE are in a very powerful draft position. Feels great haven't felt this alive in while due to our success.

Pieman better know there are three options and directions

1) Part of Port trade
2) Part of Brisbane trade & get Devo
3) Part of Melb trade & get Jackson
4) Draft

ALL options must be explored and on the table. Somebody inform the port nuffies ANY deal with us MUST involve Rioli. Lol @ nah nah rioli is a not a priority for port. We don't care you are forced take him and pay the **** up!

If we do end up pulling the trigger on the 2 for 8 plus a future 1st with Port, I genuinely hope and expect that we’ve discussed a pick split option with all of GWS, Essendon, Gold Coast and Hawthorn to see what options we had

Whilst many here, including myself, have theorised over some beneficial scenarios maybe they’re just not on the table or any likelihood of becoming so

We’ll likely never know but I’d be happier if it was eventually revealed that those discussions were held and the Port offer was better than anything else

Yeah it’s always a grey area when criticising clubs without 100% knowing what choices were in front of them.

I do feel confident in saying we’d get more value for 2 on draft night though, GWS / Essendon / Hawks would all happily trade up imo once they see Cadman / Sheezel still there

The SA and Vic teachers association have some gaps in their teaching of maths in Port and generally in Victoria

Port to Norf - 8 and Future R1 for the Horn

Norf - F off, not valuable enough

Port - How about 2?

Norf - That is more valuable

Port to Eagles - 8 and Future R1 for 2. That is so good you better throw in Rioli

And the idiots in Melbourne think it is fair as well

Port will add Rioli and JHF next year and they underperformed in the first half of this year they likely will be much better. For this reason I think it's dangerous relying on ports future first rounder. Also think Hewett could be a slider if we dont sh#t our pants overeach for him in a pick slide back. I'd go Ginbey and Busslinger ahead of Hewett.

I guess we have the leverage but Melbourne might just fold & take what Fremantle are offering. Would they really let him walk for nothing? If we really do want him, we offer more & are guaranteed too get Jackson.

We could risk it and hope Melbourne give a big finger too Fremantle and let him walk but I highly doubt that’s gonna happen. It all really depends on how much we want Jackson

Red and blue makes purple. Just saying.

Other then Ashcroft and Wardlaw. I reckon Clark's the most complete midfielder in the draft. Some may see that as Vanilla as he doesnt have that X factor in any one area but I think he's the selection we'll regret the most not taking.

Did Selwood have x factor? Not alot but geez he made an impact.

Clark to Cats seems a no brainer.
