In 15 months we are likely to be free of the following salaried
Darling
JK
Hurn
Shuey
Sheppard
Shuey
Redden
Not all on big coin but some would be. I’m thinking over $3 mln

We should be whispering in the ears of a multitude of WA under 22 year old offering serious $$

It will get the likes of Melbourne, Doggies, Brisbane and Port starting to see their cap squeezed. It is our responsibility to get the WA boys unsettled and thinking about coming home or pushing for more $$$$

WA talent - I’d start with the following 10 (I’m likely to have missed some)
1. Robertson at Lions
2. Sharp at Suns
3. Jackson at Dees
4. Warner at Swans
5. Georgiades at Port
6. Rivers at Dees
7. MacDonald at Swans
8. Grainger Barrass at Hawks
9. English at Dogs
10. Naughton at Dogs

Not sure how successful but at least be hurting the opposition lists

Warner's not going anywhere with his brother just joining him at the Swans.

He's arguably more highly rated than Hewett at this point.
Really!!! With so little football in Victoria, I cannot believe you have a yardstick to measure.

How about we hold off from comparisons until we have something to measure.

Not saying he might be great but time for people to back off on who in another state is better than someone else.

Oh how we need a carnival!

As an aside, I particularly liked the way Hewitt went for Scotch in the PSA games last year. What did you think?

Why would he go for Scotch when he played for.......... oh, sorry, hope I didn't ruin the set up!

Interesting response to such an anodyne statement.

Hewett looked like just as much of an angry campaigner who didn't enjoy losing as Yeo, in the Colts grand final.

That's enough for him to be my preferred in this imaginary "we have a top 4 pick" scenario.

The way things have been playing out lately, I wouldn't be surprised if the club stuff that up as well. Probably try winning a couple dead rubber games late to finish 12th rather than 18-14.

Simpson wants to keep his job after all, and Nesbitt just cares about cash/selling memberships.

How do you know that if they "try" winning dead rubbers, they would get the win?
Few ~100 point thrashings from last year looks to continue this year.

More likely we'll get pick 1 and break that into a late first and future 1st or something to pick up some kid no one rates.

Where's the history to suggest we'd split a top pick like that?

The only time I can recall doing it is when we were heavily linked to Dom Sheed and got our man anyway.

I reckon history would suggest when we have a top 5 pick we use it directly in the draft.

I think we split our first in 2018? But that wasn't a top 5 pick cos you campaigners know what happened.

Well our recent history of 1st round selections (or lack of) would allude you to that possibility.

Even our most recent 1st rounder in Chesser happened after trading away our 1st.

Bracing for more bad news with Yeo.

With so many mids going down should we reconsider Bailey Rogers? As a SPP or top up player.

We are going to need some help sooner or later we will lose more players to 7 day isolations never mind injuries.

Sounds like he/she's implying 'no one' rated Chesser, which is laughable.
When did I say explicitly name Chesser or imply that?

I made 2 separate posts, both of which did not necessarily need to be directly related to the other.

Go read a book.

Easy big fella. Wondering when in the past we have done what you suggested was likely to happen.

As much as I'd like N.N to win a flag here it won't happen. I wouldn't be against trading him to a top club In need of Ruckman maybe like GWS or something. Certainly bitter-sweet If he won a flag in another jersey. We could snag a pick in the 20s for him which would make it worthwhile

Gaff would be the other tradable option, needs a good year to keep his value high.

"Look at the athleticism from the big man!"

Is what Luke Darcy would say when my 173cm frame baulks around some useless campaigner like Tim English in the ruck, for a clean hitout to Relton Roberts.

Me and Relton play for the same team in this scenario.
A couple of hamburglers...
