what does everyone think ?

Hasn't taken the social moral giant long to make a stand has it - back to business as usual. Too bad it wasnt around when members wanted their money back. I wonder if any collingwood player who called harry-o a chimp will take a knee or eddie.

Be nice if we could get a week of football without claiming some moral high-ground.

Will any player have the guts to not take a knee and not bow down (literally) to the pressure.
Highly doubtful, even if privately they feel it’s a nonsense. Imagine the howls of “racist” from the mob. Gil would then feel obliged to suspend the dissenter and pack him off to an intensive re-education gulag. Tokenistic tripe.

I think we get your point, doesn’t mean it was a good one. You can’t compare where the UK was at 59 cases to where we are currently at.

Of course, because the UK at 59 cases weren't enforcing quarantines or lockdowns at that stage and it therefore went out of control into society.

Just saying if it say becomes 65 tomorrow with no idea where the other 6 came from, that's not good. Even if you want to take the position of 'oh well, just 65 out of 6 million, that's nothing to be concerned about'.

It's going to take a lot more than thousands of unemployed and unwashed chanting slogans at protests to do something about these "issues". It's not like ScottMo or any other politician at the time is going to fix things at the click of a finger ;).

A bunch of footballers kneeling on the ground is sure going to change a lot, may as well cure cancer while they are at it!

What if they also offered "thoughts and prayers"?

The gesture will be written about in tomorrow's papers and then not referred back to again.

Typical AFL selective wokism at work. Loud and clear when it comes to black lives matter, yet no condemnation or criticism about the tens of thousands of idiots who ignored pleas from medical authorities and marched during a global pandemic that has taken hundreds of thousands of live. People who not only endangered themselves but more importantly others they may subsequently come in contact with. But again not a word because that would be politically incorrect. Just simply pathetic.

Candace Owens is a nutty alt-right commentator and rising star of the young conservative movement. She is the founder of Red Pill Black on YouTube and also serves as Turning Point USA's "director of urban engagement." Get it? Because she's the only black female TPUSA supporter who isn't a stock photo model. White supremacist leader Richard Spencerhas described Owens as "the last stand of implicit white identity".[3]

It would be like ignoring a banana being shoved down your throat.
Organisations are in feverish competition for your attention every second of every day. What's the difference?

People have to accept that others have different viewpoints to them. Acknowledge it, accept it, or ignore it, and get on with your life.

This isn't about equality - it's in support of a specific American political movement, Black Lives Matter, which if I recall correctly makes dubious use of it's donations and the founders have made racist comments in the past.
Sounds like you are coming up with epistemic reasons as you dont seem to believe why the movement is happening.
