Dees need a fwd!!

Agreed. Armstrong is right there in their face. Not a stretch at pick 5 either
No, we don't need another young KPF. JVR, Jefferson, Turner and the incoming Derksen (plus Fullarton and Kentfield) are plenty. A midfielder with pace and/or good kicking skills is a far greater priority.

In my opinion this is the perfect opportunity for dees to pick up a young gun mid they can add to a future midfield make up - Windsor, Rivers, maybe McVee, Sparrow, bit of Koltyn??? They need to think about life after Viney (30) Clarry (only 27, hopefully 5 years but ??), Trac (28 but is he gone in 12 months?)

They have young ish fwds in JVR, Disco, Jefferson, Petty - hopefully a couple of these blokes pop soon.

I'd go a mid in this draft.

Dees need 3 picks in the draft and go mid mid mid. Draper/Langford/O’Sullivan options at 5
Hynes/Dattoli/Davis options at 25 (ANB trade off crows)
Ough/Cochrane/Boxhall options at 38

I'd like Murphy Reid at the dees. We don't have many players that are clean. I actually think his handballing is elite and better than his kicking. There's a bit of Sidebottom about him without the foot skills being as good as Steele's.

I'd also love any of Draper, Langford, Trainor or Lalor at 5.
No. Reid is nowhere near Sidebottom in style or substance. Like Neale but is not physically strong enough to compete. Got pushed aside in 1-1 contests. He’s a pick 11-12 at best. Often handballs to space !!

Players I didn't have in my last top 50 that I think could get drafted, starting with players linked to clubs

Coll - Luke Quaynor, Doug Kerr
NM - River Stevens
StK - Adrian Cole, Lennox Hofmann
Rich - Zaydyn Lockwood
Syd - Joe Harrison
GWS - Josaia Delana
Ess - Jayden Nguyen
Port - Louis Montgomery
Haw - Cody Anderson

Floyd Burmeister - 198cm GWV
Patrick Retschko - 186cm Oakleigh
Oliver Depaoli-Kubank - 177cm Tas

Jaxon Artemis - 180cm Sth Frem
Will Hayes - 179cm Claremont
Angus Clarke - 188cm Glenlg
Josh Dolan - 177cm Sandringham
Nathaniel Sulzberger - 184cm Sandringham/Tas

Nat Sulzberger would be a steal past 50 !! Easily a top 30-35 pick and could be higher. Physically ready. Taller mid. Great skills. Shown ability equal to other mids in Sandy Dragons team. Why is he is your late /last group ? Interested in how you see him!??!?!

up and down year, earlier in the year he was looking good albeit low disposal counts, he under performed for the Allies in the Champs and at times for Sandringham, he moves well and can look good at times, but his overall year wasnt great averaging 18.9 disposals as mostly a mid for Sandringham/Allies, biomechanically looks sound, but doesnt win enough of the ball to go in the top 50 imo, his best game standing out rather than being the norm at 29 disposals and 3 goals against the Jets.

Thanks Davo

I’m definitely buying Langford at 9, Lindsay at 20, Oliver at 40, Jack Whitlock at 41, Gross at 43, and Davis at 47.

I’m definitely selling Gerryn at 18, Champion at 27, Bradley at 30 , Urquhart at 33, ivisic at 39, Alger at 45 and Barrett at 49.

It’s a deep draft. I think there are a few “Bargains” to be got in players above 50 !!!

as long as you base these opinions on seeing them play its fine, but if its based on the terrible journalism that orbits AFL i would be concerned :D

No he hasn't but what I think ROYAL EAGLE meant was that Malakai puts himself about. Not a big fella, so goes low and get's whacked a bit. Sometimes one fears for him in contests.

Sorry Futbolista he big concussion this year at the start of the year and one last year
Its part of reason his season started slowly took him time to find form again after it
But yes i am worried as he gets hit head high a lot because he gets so low

ok fair enough mate. My mistake

There may come a time when every player must wear a helmet. It seems to be heading that way.

absolutely seen them play … Vic players in Coates league both live, Coates league app showing the full games and the national championships … whereas SA/WA Players in the championships on AFL video of the games plus videos of guys like Davis through WAFL finals and then in the colts.
I see mainly stingrays games given outer Eastern suburbs. Hynes is one player that I think will be an impact player in 2025. Think whoever gets him will be happy he’s available in the 20s in the draft.

Harry Oliver was good for BGS. Saw the full video of the BGS V HAILEYBURY game. He was very good. Got hit hard a few times but put his body on the line. Brave and excellent skills. Was excellent for Dragons in all finals games. Pick at 40? Again that’s in my opinion quite a steal. But agree it’s a deep draft.

Any thoughts on Mitch Kirkwood-Scott. Captained Haileybury. Super reliable. Super kick. Really stood out also in Coates GF v Rebels. He’s kicking outside rebound 50 was good all year and especially in the GF. Whilst only 5’11” he’s solid and has footy IQ.

He is a player that has popped up in the last couple of years as a quality small defender, I think size and lack of regular impact has put me off mentioning him, but he could be a smokey pick up at the draft, if a club is looking for that particular type to fit their system? if you're not a solid top 30-40 by most people's calculations you are in that area of the draft where about 50-80 players fit into 20-30 picks, so it's all based on club opinions and their various tests, combine results, character interviews, what positional needs they have ect, it's very hard to predict late draft as its a science we the public don't have the information for.

Thanks for all the work Davo-27.

Which guys project as being elite in their positions? Ie who is the best small defender or flanker, wing type etc, or kpd?

(Apologies in advance if have answered already)
