Pretty standard procedure. If there were two emergencies held back then there would be a late change on the cards.

I doubt Dyson would be making any excuses mate. As shown by the video above, on the next occasion he went.

As I said, Cam Mooney said that he and 99.9% of all players have pulled out on at least one occasion. It's really only people sitting comfortably behind their keyboards who think otherwise

Can I say brothers in defence on Lance - he is not a troll but a sincere football person - so leave him alone - all of you!

Yeah Lance is ok.. I'm happy for him to stay. It appears, unlike some of his pals on the Essendon board that he at least has a clue and is older than 15 thus understands why we hate them, and they hate us.

Yeah, he's charmed you lot. I don't like it. Over on the Bombers board he's just like them.
I've never pretended to like North Melbourne Daz. I hate the club with a passion. I just know not to be a complete dickhead over here, is all

Went to the Essendon open session this morning, long story but I have twin boys, one of whom is a North supporter and the other went over to the dark side with the wife, so to create harmony at home I took my Essendon supporting son to their session. What a farce it was, but got to say in Dyson Heppels defence he made the effort to come out of their change rooms (where they all slunk straight after a feeble session, unlike the unfettered access North provides its supporters) to sign an autograph and get a photo with my son. The only other 'big' names who venured out were Jetta and Dyson ("who are they? my son asked LMAO).
So Kudos to Dyson Heppel, he did make my sons day. I told him to go out and enjoy the evening with many beers and stay out as late as he wanted!!!
Interesting to see that Hurley had heavy strapping to his wrist and shirked any contact or marking with it. Spud has to go out and give it a test in the first 2 minute of the game, doesn't he? Also had Dustin Fletcher practising goal kicking as a red herring! Barrels from 55? Lovely!

Yeah, Hurley's had his 'wrist' strapped up since the Bulldogs game late last year I think it was. It's actually his thumb, but he has massive strapping that sorta goes down to his wrist. Is a worry, but obviously not a late out as its been 12+ months.

Actually, it's from 2009 when he fractured his scaphoid.

Scaphoid fractures are notoriously bad for healing, so he'll pretty much be strapped up like that for the rest of his career.

It's not do or die tomorrow, but If we win we can start preparing our finals campaign for 2012. We will be 6th on the ladder aswell. If we lose we will get a second chance to stitch it up against Fremantle in two weeks time. St Kilda vs Geelong looms as a huge game next Friday night though with us needing Geelong to win to put St Kilda 100% out of the picture who are a threat with that massive percentage of theirs. I think the Cats have set themselves for that one. There is still a lot of work to do at KangaTown and I hope we don't choke up. The next 4 games and wether we make finals will in my opinion make or break us, but I am confident we will get the job done.

Thomas would be handy tomorrow. Campbell and Garlett need to play career best games. If we win we get a free crack at Collingwood next week who will be bruised and battered. Come on boys. I wont sleep tonight.

I'm not concerned about the 22, in fact I think we are cherry ripe for this type of match.

This game will be all about testing character.

Any bloke who doesn't stand up today must come under intense scrutiny for a finals berth.

This game is huge for Garlett, Cunnington, Campbell and MacMillan. None of them would want to put in a poor game. Ziebell, Thomas, Mullet, Pederson and Greenwood are breathing down their necks.

If the players show up, then it's only the coach that can lose this match.
