If blokes don't stand up today then they must be heavily scrutinised as to whether they are the right players to take us to our next premiership.

Watching the pies/swabs game last night and what a scrap it was.
They both showed what you have to do to win.
Are we capable of winning if our run and carry style of game is stopped.
I don't think we have arrived till we tough out a game like that.

We need to show some fight when the chips are down.

Well I think Essendon will turn the game into a real dogfight tonight so here's our chance to see how we go.

It took us a half of footy to adjust against the Doggies and Melbourne had a loose man behind play all day, as did Richmond. So let's hope the boys are a little smarter now against defensive tactics and adjust accordingly against the Dons.

OS and shinbone are spot on. This game is a massive test for the team. Essendon have come out with the psychological warfare and have made it clear what this game means to them. They are basically saying to North that they will be coming out steaming as its do or die. Are our players ready for this? Are they prepared to make the sacrifices to win? Stick at the structures while things aren't going their way?

I think it's pretty obvious what Essbedon are going to dish up today, let's see if we have the maturity to handle it and win the game.

I am bullish that we will and if this happens then it will be a massive win for the club, I mean massive.

I dont mind you Lance Uppercut, you know more about other lists than most of the other Essendon posters that happen by. l read your posts, more often than not they are very considered not always Essendon biased but you defend your club.
Off season you were hooking into us (probably because of some over the top Roo Boys defending the good name) but l think you would even admit there is more at North as far as talent than you were aware of.

Im personally interested to get an objective opinion from you re who are the younger players you rate on our list that were talked up pre season from an outsiders POV.

For what its worth l think full strength we would struggle to win today your best footy and our best footy would be great to watch.
I see that our best footy was a month ago now and don`t buy into the theory we are waiting for better teams to come along to kick into gear......The loser today will struggle to play finals

Harper, Atley, Ziebell, Adams and Bastinac are the makings of an outstanding midfield unit, and I suspect McKenzie will also be a good 'un but I haven't seen enough to be sure.

Did you deliberately leave out Cunnington LanceU? (just asking, most neutrals are 50/50 about his progress)

Agree, Lachie and Taz haven't shown enough yet to be quality forwards in their own right. Hopefully today (for us at least! ) is a step forward especially in a big game.

Apparently if Hurley, Crameri and Gumbleton just rock up to the ground they win.

They do realise Hansen AND Tarrant average the same amount of goals as Hurley don't they?
