Shit news for carlton and docherty..

We’ve all be going on about Brad Crouch and hoping he makes it through this preseason and goes on to play a full season next year... but ive been more “worried” about brodie smith.. constantly praying we dont hear news that hes re-injured his knee... the risk is always there as docherty has now unfortunately found out.. even lever has had a setback in the last week..

And sam docherty is to carlton what brodie smith is to adelaide... both very important top 5 players for their respective clubs and both seriously missed out on the field in 2018..

Knee injuries are ******.
Considering that Brodie injured his knee in September and wasn't available till late in the season, I was pretty shocked to hear that Doc was ready to play this year.
I feel like there was an injury management shift mid-year at the Crows. We went conservative and rested rather than play through and rush back. 6 months too late in reality but seems to be paying off now when you hear everyone's progress.

I am always looking for anything that benefits the club but benefiting from another players injury is not what I look for. Feel sorry for any player who loses a year out of the game through injury.

sad sad news

is it just me or does it seem a little early for Docherty to be involved in tackling drills?
They got Hawthorn's conditioning coach who is supposed to be one of the best in the business. I doubt he would have had Docherty doing tackling drills if he didn't think it was safe. I think this is most likely just shit luck for Docherty. Repeat ACL injuries are a pretty common thing still, though not as common as they used to be. This is why ACL's are the bane of every footy supporter. Not only are they open to being re-injured, players who sustain this kind of injury are never the same again.

Damn this thread reminds me how much I loathe being tied at the hip with a travesty of a footy club like Carlton. I hope SOS and Reid's love affair comes to an end some time soon.

I doubt most of the people in this thread would even be posting about Docherty's injury if it wasn't relevant to the pick trade we have with cfc. People feel bad for profiting from some other team's misery. It's an awkward situation. We all know ACL's are the pits.

I feel bad for Docherty as an individual.

I don't feel bad for their club, their supporters or media sycophants like McClure though.

You are right, I'd post my thoughts in the Non-Crows thread

Rumours on Carlton board that he did the injury on a trampoline.

Glory be.
Geez surely not.

Are they taking advice from Mitch Grigg...

It appears the post has been taken down too on BF, apparently there is a video of him on trampoline on his gf instagram over the weekend that has now been deleted.

Seriously the stupidity is mind boggling, even if it didnt cause his ACL.

To be fair I think a trampoline is a good non-impact way to increase leg strength.

If he did backflips etc then thats dumb

The video would be priceless. If the video exists, Im sure BF would find it.

Yes we used to use trampolines for leg strength training but glory be, I think the guy was stuffing around on the weekend.

I thought he did his injury in the early rounds of 2018? I could be wrong though
It was also the pre-season last year as well .....so for the club to say he could have played in August, 8 months was maybe ambitious
