To be honest , I'm more confident Dew ,Francou , Tate Kaesler knowledge more on how to build spine than you .All three actually coaches team in higher level .
Late pick stillWhere's old Splinterdick being projected these days?
Kaesler hasn't and Francou is unproven. Your whole club is a joke, why would these guys be any betterTo be honest , I'm more confident Dew ,Francou , Tate Kaesler knowledge more on how to build spine than you .All three actually coaches team in higher level .
Gold coast has been down that path, Did not work. So now the time they followed the Hawthorn, Geelong, Richmond path of having a dominant Midfield and one or two KPP,Disagree. Build your spine first. Their spine looks ordinary going forward.

Their defensive talls look Good enough to cope if they had a Midfield capable of standing up, they have a couple of tall Forward capable, add Luko and they are set in that area, but they do not have depth in the middle and they need pace. A great spine is useless if you don't win the ball.
Good to see you're on the Caldwell train too....First 3 picks done, I've gone for Caldwell, Jones and Collier-Dawkins so far. Last one was a very hard call between about 4 players.
It Take time , Clayton was GC previous list manager , and now Craig Cameron,Evans and Dew are cleaning the mess . Not going to take a season to clean all out . Blind Freddy also can see Dew don't actually rate what Clayton pick and Trade ( Barlow / Lyons /Scrimshaw ) . Not sure is his game plan or other matter.Off the top of my head that is the path they have been going down with their recent drafting. Hasn’t worked for them either.
Not sure he was ever best mates with betts.
Good to see you're on the Caldwell train too....
Smith ? A king wouldn’t surprise eitherAlso wouldn't surprise me if Port end up taking an interstater with their first pick.

Blood is thicker than water (mateship).
GC have a rare opportunity to get key position twins who have been rated extremely highly in a very strong draft year.
Elite spines are harder to find and take longer to develop. Their #1 issue is retention. How do you fix that?

What odds we end up with a pair of Xavier's draft wise?? Reckon they are both the type Hamish would be all over??Oath, was wetting the bed that he would be taken before Ben King as I didn't want to take King with our first but fortunately King then went the pick before making my decision easy. Without his issues he's a top 5 talent.
There is actually a strong AFL support base on the GC it just hasn’t been tapped into as we have been so poor on the field. Our crowds apart from last year stack up favourable again GWS which is encouraging considering how they have performedExactly and those picks won’t be 8 and 13 they will be much lower..intact I would think a first rounder would be enough for an out of contract player.. they will both get sick of losing infront of 8000 people on weekly basis pretty quickly...
I would be lying if I said I know, media indications are veryHow tight are they?
Our academy is no doubt an advantage if used correctly but we have been starved of funds to support it. And while it is a geographically large area It is sparsely populated and pro league. The GWS academy that borders on the NSW - Vic boarder is an strong AFL area and fruitful.Blood is not that thick either.
How do you fix retention of your elite is try to prioritise local talent (and GC has a huge advantage here with academies), stringent management of cap space and being a good side. Equally not being afraid to sacrifice your mid tier players to keep these top end players when the time comes to doing that.
Drafting the Kings brothers because they are brothers doesn't fix anything on it's own.

We will, 2 of them but they are unlikely to attract much interest.Tough break with Scott. Will you take any of your academy kids? Any worth bidding on?
